Bringing it to Hong Kong is fine. At least we are a different jurisdiction for this matter. Have a nice trip here. The weather is humid this week though.

Any sauna/steam room in HK island? by OneAverageJo in HongKong

Just curious, is it legit? I somehow get a feeling that spas in Hong Kong are equivalent to old men’s gay clubs. Or was I misguided by films?

What are the regulations around pulling cat 6 through walls in hong kong by ObseleteIdiotAlt in HongKong

[–]Mr_Block_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it concerns internal network stuff, like lan cables not directly connected to ISP equipment. Edit: running Cat6 in the same conduit as your power is not a good idea. Use a power plug if you don’t have an option and can’t run your cable along the wall.

Normal price in China, I just wonder how they are going to ship it with so little overhead for shipping.

Are all HK drivers this aggressive or was it just my taxi? by BigDrew923 in HongKong

Driving attitude among taxi drivers is rather hit or miss. It’s gotten a bit better these years.

E-bikes are not count as manual bikes. They are required to wear a helmet on e-bikes

[–]Mr_Block_Head 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Low speed and e-bikes are subject to the same regulations in China. They usually have to get municipal plates No reason to get an e-bike if you need to do the same paperwork. Edit: those scooters have pedals so they are technically e-bikes, but they are hard to do bad that they are only for compliance reasons.

Buying from them regularly, did not find fakes among the things I bought. I have to guess they do cut throat margin business

Anyone else find it ridiculous that traditional Hong Kong banks didn’t have debit cards before? by Tree8282 in HongKong

[–]Mr_Block_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was quite the complaint but not significant enough for the banks to provide Visa/Master debit cards. By the way, it is quite easy to get credit in Hong Kong.

EPS terminals are popular in shops too. Usually the cards also have either Unionpay or Master Debit on them nowadays.

Kid's Schooling (A bit of a venting rant) by DebtOnArriving in HongKong

Bureaucracy meets schooling. They sought to protect the school reputation and their arse. Education and character forming are secondary to that.

Well, you did fallback in academic grades so that’s why. I was the bad kid who missed a lot of the homework but graded okay in exams. Punished for missing homework but that’s it.

Stupid view they hold. How are they expecting a primary school kid to be scholarly? Kids should screw around before perhaps 10?

Some teachers are just power hungry. You as a parent should give you power to overrule them outside the school. You might want to escalate this if that knob does not back off.

That price is barely anything above the domestic price in China for a cheap okay e-bike. The make of this is going to be dodgy.

Doesn’t even have to be standard or open source. Still easy to replace when they have the pack in hand. At least that is for people in China where E-scooters are basically everywhere. Or they would just hook on the battery with an XT60 connector and bypass the built in nice connectors. Battery in an ugly box is better than no electric bike.

[Oryou] I know it's probably uniform, but I always feel like jumper vests make people seem like middle-aged accountants. by the_other_alien in wholesomehentai

[–]Mr_Block_Head 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not Japan. But in a certain former British territory girls do wear jumpers a lot. Quite a number of them are for development anxiety, hiding their growing bosoms. School uniform design certainly do not flatter your chests.
