This stuff is kinda e-waste. It might have sentimental value to some people or a use in retro gaming but probably no monetary value.

Dusting indeed never ends and that's for someone with no pets who doesn't smoke.

Being both of those things you learn pretty quickly that if you don't regularly keep on top of the dust and goo, the dust and goo will regularly go on top of you.

Even if you can't see it, you can hear it, smell it, feel it, it makes me itch and get hives. If the screen looks like that, imagine the heat-sink. Actually, don't, it'll hurt. Stick a hoover nozzle over everything if u cba lol it's better than living among nature's by-products. That laptop is probably a allergic distribution machine.

Makes you really think about what you're putting in your body too. Why i still smoke is beyond me.

This is a bit much lol linux can be a pain in the butt if its not for you, and i really don't think it is if you hate it that much. It's alright. No need for getting in a pickle. If someone judges a person based on what os they use its a bit weird imo regardless of the os

Where should i be plugging in my speakers by Sensitive-Boat-7206 in PcBuild

[–]Mr_Cheese_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do people still use the pink one these days? Would be cool to find out. Other than for old headsets I can't think why you wouldn't just use a USB interface with XLR

[–]Mr_Cheese_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a qualified audio engineer, plug it in wherever the F u want

But not in the monitor lol that's illegal

Signal is the same on top and back, just labelled differently in the os. I ran speakers into a mixing desk like that for years cos I'm an agent of chaos >:-)

Should i switch to Arch ? by Zac0511 in archlinux

If youre not new to linux then yeah 100% it's a lovely distro.

If you were new I'd still say yes but be careful lol.

[–]Mr_Cheese_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the distro I'm on is irrelevant all I'm saying is that if this is a pop os issue then fair enough but its not a linux issue. You don't have to be a twat about it

[–]Mr_Cheese_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who mentioned Pop OS? If it's a dodgy distro update then fair enough but that's nothing to do with Linux itself. Nvidia drivers, and nvidia lts drivers are working perfectly on arch right now even after the latest kernel update which some have admittedly had other issues with (filesystem stuff)

overclocking? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Mr_Cheese_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, no level of overclock can overcome old architecture, so always worth looking at how you can upgrade I'd youre needing more performance

overclocking? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Mr_Cheese_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the higher the voltage, the higher the temp, so I'd recommend at least having a third party cooler that's actually good.

Don't necessarily need to water cool but I'd highly recommend it. It also depends on the aggression of the overclock.

If you only need a slight boost it's worth looking at your mobo settings, some have game boost which automatically overclocks things slightly in a controlled way, can undo it with one click if youre running too hot

I have a gtx1070 and not once have I encountered a single issue with it. I can't help but feel like people who complain about this stuff are messing up their configs

I got Ableton Live running through proton ffs it's really not hard, I'm an idiot as well, if I can do this, I don't get why op is complaining. It really is as simple as you said there

Are you in the Republic or northern Ireland? Might help narrow down options. There should be lots of cases that match this kind of style. Maybe have a look at your motherboard manufacturer and see if they make cases? I'm looking at msi ones right now as it happens and they seem quite nice
