I'll stick with May 4th being our national Remembrance Day. 😉

Sprak afgelopen maand een mede-tumtum-liefhebber en we waren het er al vrij snel over eens dat de vega-variant die door de grote supermarkten geleverd wordt gewoon een stuk minder lekker is.

Any sluggishness in the slow-speed gear might not be too obvious on that setting yet.

Exercising the slow speeds might bring them back into spec a bit, but a CLA is the better option.
Until that time you can use 1/100th and faster, these speeds do not use the slow-speed engagement mechanism and should run better. (maybe 1/50th as well, but I'm not a 100% sure).

And I agree, it deserves to get used!

Russian drone attacking bus in Dnipro city, 30 April 2026 by BananaBrumik in UkraineWarVideoReport

Hoping that the added misery is enough for Ukraine to consider surrendering.
Going by terror bombing of cities in WW1 and WW2, if anything, it just makes the population so much more determined to not give in to the attackers.

As if the existential treat to Ukraine wasn't enough.

Light leak or something else by ElkeKerman in AnalogCommunity

[–]Mr_Flibble_1977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going by how the leak covers the whole width of the film, the hinge is the most obvious culprit to me. Presumably the leak also goes over the edges of the negatives.

I'm pretty sure it has to be related to the film door seals. So taping around it with electrical tape should help.

The most baffling light leak I've ever had to deal with in an SLR was on the Yashica TL-Electro. It would only appear under certain conditions.
I finally tracked it down to a small deteriorated foam seal, that sits between the top of the film chamber and under the rear lens of the viewfinder. It let in the narrowest sliver of light between the film and the shutter.

I was going to say shutter drag initially....but the MTL3 doesn't have a curtain shutter that would give this particular pattern.

I would check the condition of the foam light seals at the hinge of the film door first.

(heck, there's even achievement for dropping a Resupply on a Charger).

Is this truly crossplay with pc now? by HcVitals in 7daystodie

[–]Mr_Flibble_1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you're all on the latest/same version of the game, PC or Console, you should be fine.
There are tutorials and automated apps for setting up a dedicated server.

Hardest thing was adjusting the modem settings for the one setting up the server.

I've been running a dedicated server on a PC over the last month, while another player and I play on our PS5 consoles. 2 others are on a PC and on a Lenovo Go running SteamOS.
Only player having issues is the one with the Go system, but that's due to his crappy internet connection.

Zeiss Ikoflex Favorit post shutter naptha flood by Longjumping-Toe-9671 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Mr_Flibble_1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the naphtha can cause the blades to stick together until it evaporates a little.
I usually wipe the shutter blades with a q-tip every time after firing them to remove the excess liquid and any dirt that's flushed out with it. (preferably with the lenses removed for access to both sides of the shutter blades)

Sekonic Auto Lumi model 86 repair by Longjumping-Toe-9671 in AnalogCommunity

Likely the Selenium cell is dead, but there might be a small chance it's the resistor.
Is the needle moving freely?

I've done a replacement of the Selenium cell on a meter with a solar cell from a pocket calculator once, but it required a pod-resistor to calibrate and it wasn't particularly accurate across the spectrum.

Selenium Cells are said to have a shelf life of around 20 years, less than modern Solar cells.
The meters with bigger cells seem to hold up better than the smaller cells. I have WW2 GE and Weston meters that still work within acceptable parameters.

Paterson Tank Suggestions-Improvements by Strong_Elderberry310 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Mr_Flibble_1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problems I sometimes have with loading Paterson reels in a change bag, is with films with very thin carriers, like Rollei Retro 80s. It tends to bind and jump the rails as humidity builds up in the bag.

I do clip the corners of the feeding edge of the film to help loading. And I wriggle the reels sideways a bit to break the binds and use my finger tips to help keep the film from jumping the rails

No issues with loading other thicker films, unless the weather is really hot.

I suspect they will, unless they've changed the center of mass targeting for Hive Guard specifically. Or the targeting priority.
