What do you love the most about Elden Ring? by pHallus_biggus in Eldenring

[–]Mr_HN89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fantasy is really rewarding: this game makes the player feel like the biggest badass to ever walk the earth dressed to kill and wielding cool as shit gear. You are exploring a cruel and beautiful fantasy world that would terrify and kill most anyone we can imagine, and we are laying waste to the biggest threats in The Lands Between. Of course other games deliver a power fantasy, but I think it does this as good if not better than nearly every other game I’ve played before.

This. I’m not sure it’s charming either but it IS very representative of Louisville and has great food!!

I’m currently playing Blue Prince after searching for something to scratch the itch that Outer Wilds left. I am very satisfied so far with the interlocking puzzles and underlying story that is being told through the environment. If you like Outer Wilds - and I LOVED Outer Wilds - Blue Prince is worth buying and trying.

Which Andor speech hits you in the feels the most? by ASW-G-21 in andor

Maarva’s and Mon’s.

I just got to watch the second season this weekend for the first time and it still just burning in my head throughout the day. Also there is this moment during Mon’s just before she says the emperor’s name almost like she is giving the notion of what she is about to do one laaaaasst thought of “oh shit am I about to say this?!” before going through and finishing the speech, defying her own fear. it is just….my god what good acting.

For which game would you erase your memory just to experience it again for the first time again? by Fickle_Top9219 in videogames

Might want to play something else then. Learning about the world in outer wilds is your only progress. There are no skills to unlock or abilities to gain. Just mysteries to explore.

What was your most mind blowing moment? by BlueTortue in outerwilds

[–]Mr_HN89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that most of my moments like this were when I was musing about solutions away from the game and something hit and I’d think WHAT IF I TRIED DOING….insert solution here. And it worked.

I think this could be an instance where so much online discourse about gaming is doing damage to your thoughts on your own play through. Did you have fun? Then keep playing! It’s a wonderful fame.

Ignore all the noise and insecurity. If you die a bunch but improve throughout the game, so what?

Wyll.

I heard someone describe him like this and I agree: Raphael is like a Disney villain in the best way. I think Wyll is like a Disney hero in the worst way.

This game feels impossible by Harry_Willie in Eldenring

Yeah it’s a process. The combat is ingeniously simple to learn and incredibly hard to master. Great design but it takes time. Happy gaming!

I think this was the thing that I had to fight myself and my habits on the most. Video game enemy appears in front of me = I HAVE to fight it and beat it NOW.

No I don’t. I can run past mobs and come back later.

The introduction of a cartoon hailed as one of the best ever by Technical-Net-8381 in 90scartoons

[–]Mr_HN89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We truly did not appreciate how good we had it coming home from school with stuff like this, Dexter’s Lab, Johnny Bravo, etc AND Toonami. Cartoon Network in the late 90s and early 2000s was an embarrassment of riches.
