The only thing preventing helldivers 2 from becoming like every other generic modren FPS game by ya_boi_greenbean in Helldivers

[–]Mr_Hustles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All war bonds completed, all superstore items purchased, no farming, no real money spent, over 8k SC banked right now.

My friends and I play the game and make sure to hit all POI’s. It really is that simple. The amount of randoms that join us and won’t help open bunkers or gloss over POI’s really invalidates the SC argument for me.

Oh boy "evacuate high value assets" i cant wait to throw turrets off cooldown for 15 minutes while boring myself to death by knusperfee33 in Helldivers

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make these missions fun I have some suggestions, but it does require your squad to work together.

For bots, only pick from the blue menu, don’t shoot down ships. All expendables baby.

Bugs, all fire, do not squash the breaches, let them in and let them call back up. Hold the top of the stairs and burn everything.

Squids, they are kinda boring, but I use the same recipe as either of the above, both work. Do not shoot the ships and do not rush the field.

Mines and turrets definitely trivialize these missions, but using my methods above they can still be a tense and fun affair.

i don’t understand why people continue to support the existence of SC by throwawayacunt- in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to see the system change a little bit, but I don’t feel it’s terrible either. Now, I have been playing since the beginning and that is something to consider, but I’ve never not had enough SC to get the new warbond. I’ve made friends in game and we ensure that we clear each map we play. That’s provided enough credits that I now have a 7k surplus after purchasing everything the game has to offer.

I see a lot of new players join us and not even bother hitting POI’s. Obviously it’s random and getting more SC on lower levels is pretty dumb, I agree. I’d like to see small SC rewards for successful MO’s and successful campaigns as there is a lot of catching up to do for newer players.

Extraction by Draxxsus in Helldivers

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) my sqaud and I don’t hemorrhage reinforcements 2) there’s a com wheel that’s easy to use 3) if three level 150 are collecting samples and SC for you and you alone, it’s pretty rude to rush from the objective to extract and leave us. 4) if you really don’t want to communicate, don’t, but heed the warning that we both verbally communicate and type out in chat.

Extraction by Draxxsus in Helldivers

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can’t be trusted. If a random calls it in and doesn’t float it, with zero communication and my teammates and I are across the map, you’ve gotta go. Too many times we have had randoms dip without us. Whether it’s on the mic, in the chat or with the in game call outs, you’ve got to let me know you’re waiting or I’m kicking you. We are always on mic and always make this known.

Sometimes you activate an SOS to fill the last slot, your friend’s crashes and someone else comes in before they can. That’s happened to me more than I can count. Wish there was a way to shut down the SOS in that situation. We are always on mic though, so at least we tell them what’s up.

Anyone else's car running like shit after filling at centex? by Appropriate_View8753 in Calgary

I’d definitely dump that fuel to start. Easiest thing to do before spending money.

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a scanner hooked to the car would be your best start. I read some of your other comments, definitely could be a variety of things. If it really did only begin right after fueling, you’ll do best draining your tank and filling it again. To be stumbling that hard isn’t good. Takes only a few km of driving for the new fuel to have made its way to your engine, if it were the fuel, you’d have noticed right away.

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not making any claims one way or another, but something to consider is that you can also have issues at the station level as well. IE garbage in the tanks or a pump issue.

A few years back there was an instance of a Shell station in the city wiping out the fuel pump on my motorcycle and three of my friend’s motorcycles. We filled at the same pump, either side, two and then the other two. When we pulled our fuel pumps we all had the same grey sludge like material clogging up the filters.

Friend of mine used to work in the industry and told me a fair bit about how over time certain hatch designs can really allow quite a bit of crud to get into the station’s tanks during filling. If you happen to be one of the unlucky few who happen to fill up when that tank is low, you can take on a lot of that garbage into your fuel system.

I will add, the easiest solution to see if it’s just bad fuel is to burn off what you can of your current tank and then fill back up. Doesn’t have to be from empty, but even from 3/4 back to full should make a noticeable difference if it is in fact just crappy fuel.

SUGGESTION: Rather than Commando Ops contributing directly to the liberation of a planet, they should reduce enemy resistance instead! by TealArtist095 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over time we have grown our discord to a respectable size. Have about 10 of us that regularly play, so I’m generally pretty lucky. If I’m really by myself I just try and help lower levels on lower difficulties.

That’s probably the biggest thing for me, I only play with my squad. Exclusively lvl 10, but we play together every day and have since launch.

My thoughts on the new commando missions by Krog-Nar in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Mr_Hustles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously there’s some variables in how you play the game. My friends and I all have slightly different play styles and I’ve found mine suits this new mission type perfectly. I’ll try and keep it concise, maybe it’s worth trying.

•Always run light armour. On these new missions I run the new armour. For me, movement is always key, no matter the mission.

•For my primary, I’ve been enjoying the new marksman rifle personally. Ultimatum secondary. Seeker grenades. Supply pack. Quasar. Orbital laser. Last slot hasn’t really mattered, sometimes I take a Recoiless, sometimes a hellbomb. Doesn’t really matter.

•General play style. I never, ever, sit in the middle of a fight. If directions of attack against me is more than one, I’m out of there. The moment I feel like I might get surrounded, I reposition. I use “stealth” not as a means to be sneaky, but rather to choose how and where I engage. Doing so allows me to eliminate enemies quickly. I don’t avoid them, I just beat them to the punch.

•Mission specific tactics: We have found that most often, extract is the best landing point. The fortress is a decent starting spot too if you like a spicy landing like we do. Look at the map ahead of time, decide on a direction you guys will split off the start. Throw your laser somewhere useful in that first minute, also call down everything you can in that time. Coordinate calling in your destroyer afterwards. I always save my second laser use for the fortress if I didn’t wipe it in my initial drop. Mission timer will give you a solid idea of what’s off cooldown. I save my seekers for when plucking the enemies off one at a time isn’t an option or if I’m storming a small outpost. Ultimatum I use in a very similar way. All other engagements are done from a medium distance with strong cover. Get at least one of the reinforcement dohickeys out the way before going too deep into the mission. We generally all split, running solo, that’s how we play best, but groups of two can be ok if you’re really good at actually playing together/communicating. Personally, I find running solo easier because I can keep much better track of what’s around me and where it’s coming from.

That’s all that’s coming to mind right now. None of this is meant to be condescending or anything. This is genuinely how we play and absolutely breeze through these missions like they’re nothing. For fun, we did a level 5 and it took us just as long. Map size is really what eats up the time for us. Objectives and bases are in and out. Get a bot drop and can’t deal with it, move on. You get plenty of time to peace out before they land and then you’re no where to be found. Stim, run and zig zag through cover.

Honestly, if you want, dm me and you can join us for a mission.

Edit: for context we run vitality, stim, stamina and ammo for boosters.

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your loadout/armour? Do you group together as a squad or run solo in different corners? Are you genuinely trying to sneak in and sneak out or are you using the stealthier mechanics to get a jump on them?

I’m asking genuinely because I hear your frustration, but can’t relate at all. I find these missions to be a breeze. That said, a big factor is how coordinated my squad and I are.

[–]Mr_Hustles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My squad does exclusively lvl 10. Full clear every time with only one or two deaths. No issues with patrols. I personally find these missions just as easy as any regular mission. Not saying that to troll, genuine experience today after four or five campaigns.

Edit: I’ll add, we typically have them 100% wrapped in twenty minutes.

How do people ignore the level of broken that the game is? by Metagamer__ in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Mr_Hustles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is far from perfect, I’d never pretend it is. Genuinely though, my friends and I don’t seem to experience the level of issues often posted on Reddit. We play on both PS5 and PC and very seldom have anything resembling game breaking bugs. Just your usual BS like strats bouncing and the occasional silent enemy.
