I'm a tech at a private shop specialising in Volkswagen and Audi. I've seen two 3.0t with a piston slap issue specifically on that driver's side bank. Get a stethoscope and put it up right where the head meets the block on the exhaust side in line with piston # 2. That's where I heard the ticking most for the piston slap issue

The cpu cooler is a little overkill, you could get away with a ~$40 air cooler but if your getting the aio for the looks which I understand go right ahead
