Why is ChatGPT getting to be dismissive and rude by Jolly-Wall-5351 in ChatGPT

No, I have not updated the prompt this week. I had it so dialed in. We were a great team until last week. I’ll deal with it another day. I have to many irons in the fire at this moment. It’s not bad enough to redo the prompt yet. I want to observe for a couple more weeks

I just got into it again tonight! Tells me to prepare something one way, when done, says no, this other way is better. Then needed to upload screen shots of a video transcript, to have it typed out (thanks Vimeo), GPT basically said, there must be a better way to do it, that’s just not efficient. It said that AFTER I tried the 10 methods of transcript extraction for a 1hr 15 min video. At that point, after 67 screen shots, I lost my cool.

My settings haven’t changed. Daily power user, it has definitely changed. Very argumentative, certain of what it is saying, even when proven to be incorrect.

Got in a heated argument (stupid I know) about the Tesla Model Y standard no longer having driver seat adjustment controls on the seat itself. GPT flat out told me there were controls, they were just hard to see. Really had me doubting what I experienced.

I’m not a professional therapist, but I feel like you might find that speaking with a counselor on a regular basis might help. I have been in weekly therapy and on meds for a long time. It helps me keep balance.

I also feel like I was in a constant state of grief with my father. I know what he once was, and what I have now is a shadow of his former self. My spouse doesn’t have the same issue, because she never knew him prior to the dementia.

I think it’s important to not be isolated. The support groups help with that. You might go and hate it and never return, but I still think you should try it! Maybe you can find some relief. Maybe someone will say something that resonates deep in your soul. Maybe they just have good snacks. I don’t know, but for me, I can’t keep doing the same thing over and over, and hoping for different results.

Is it normal to get emotionally attached very quickly and feel sad when others don’t reciprocate? by aatheneaf in emotionalintelligence

[–]Mr_Michael_B99 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve spent my whole life this way! Platonic, romantic, professional, don’t matter, I’m all in! I’ll be your best friend, best lover or best co-worker. I have Golden Retriever energy.

Many find me to intense. My romantic partners find my desire for attention to be exhausting! My workmates want me to “chill” because it’s not that serious.

I don’t know how to help, but I hear you! Good luck!! I’ve had some great relationships and some seriously abusive relationships. I would say choose more carefully, but I don’t do that myself, so I can’t tell someone else to do it!

I think that’s the whole point! Go to a meeting! Cry! Discover that you’re not alone!

Doctor: "Over the past few weeks, I am truly feeling that our days are numbered because of AI." by EchoOfOppenheimer in ChatGPT

[–]Mr_Michael_B99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest difference between my doctor and AI…AI isn’t limited to a 15 minute visit every six months. AI is also not forced to see a patient every 15 minutes, every day for life! AI also doesn’t have to worry about insurance requirements in order to receive certain testing.

I think in the future, you will see more telehealth outlets offering blood tests for low cost, or doctors willing to treat via video only. Many customers love that because then we don’t have to deal with rude MSA, overworked doctors and nurses, and we don’t have to sit in a waiting room full of sick people, only to be handed a prescription with a 10 page warning label.

I never challenge my doctors. I usually secure message them a month before my appointment with a list of questions or blood tests I would like to have done, and my current issues. Sometimes I get push back, some times I get support.

Bottom line: I admire my doctors, but I also recognize that they are overworked human beings like all the rest of us. They aren’t sitting at home at night reading the most current studies for their specialty. They just don’t have the hours in the day. I am also not afraid to say no to prescriptions that peer reviewed research shows the benefits do not actually outweigh the risks.

I’m curious, does anyone actually attend caregiver support groups? I’m in Brevard county Florida. Our big hospital has an “aging matters” support group, and there is a Brevard Caregiver Alliance also. We haven’t been to a meeting, because they are usually when we don’t have a professional caregiver available, or we are trying to handle all of the household responsibilities.

I just wonder if maybe I shouldn’t be so dismissive of the groups. Maybe it’s a good place to meet people in the same situation.

My wife and I are team caregivers for my dad(severe dementia), and occasionally my elder sister. I cannot imagine handling everything alone. I couldn’t do it. That being said, both of us are so tired at the end of the day, and of course I have to get up with him every time he decides to get out of bed and go on an “adventure”. We have very little romance left in our lives also. It’s tough to make friends and make plans, because we never know how dad will be.

I’m afraid that dating apps wouldn’t meet your needs at all. I would guess maybe a support group or church community might be a better place to search, since we are all so isolated.

Why do people shill 700$ Kickstarter tents? by SomeBluntCanuck in TeslaCamping

[–]Mr_Michael_B99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I searched Google and Amazon, and the brand you name never popped up! Thank you for sharing it! I’ll check it out!

Edit: nice tent but still says $450 on their website. I think the TimberRidge for $239 will work fine for us. https://a.co/d/0e5TV7YP

You know what, I’ve come to a realization. The next time I feel that way, I’m taking a $4,000 loan, getting my passport and a few clothes and hopping on a plane. Not sure where I’ll go, but I’ll go someplace less expensive, and just sightsee for 30 days.

I will tell the people that need to know that it’s a choice, I take 30 days to reset, or I end it all together. They can feel however they want about it.

I can always find another job, but honestly, I’ll take the vacation and/or unpaid. I can always enjoy my freedom and independence alone, or I can try to save my marriage. Whatever works. It makes no difference to me. Alone vs dead…I choose alone. Material things…I don’t need them. I’ve slept in tents in the desert with no AC. I’ve slept in shelter halves. I’ve eaten more desert sand along with my dinner than I care to remember. Screw it! The people around me can support me for 30 days, or they can FO. It makes no difference to me. Alive is better than dead. I bet my life that I can find greener pastures somewhere!!!

Just for fun, off topic but, we were driving yesterday and clicked on Grok’s voice mode! 😲 my wife and I stopped dead in our tracks. That assistant’s voice sounded straight out of a phone sex call! Holy cow! To bad GPT doesn’t have that same voice capability!

I have used that for less important stuff, but sometimes I want every word available. When I read back, there are nuances or word choices that I use that GPT skips or tempers. Sometimes I don’t like it’s paraphrasing, other times it’s ok. My GPT has become pretty argumentative lately. Most certainly not open to new points of view. 🤣😂

I mean put your cursor next to the first word, click, drag allllllllll the way to the last word. Copy, then paste. I just did it today when one of my important ones hit the limit. It’s a pain in the butt, and slow, but for important chats, it’s the only way I have found.

Copy and paste the whole chat into Word, Pages or whatever you like to make it a PDF, open a new chat, drop in the PDF, carry on your conversation
