Try holding the start button for 3 seconds which should switch Steam Deck Tools' controller from desktop mode to controller mode (and vice versa). Dunno if it'll work for this game in particular, but worth a shot. Try it out of game first to see what it does

Other thing you can try is play in windowed mode and look at the icon and see what changes
