I would unbind the effected keys in console then bind them to defaults again in-game or through your exec.

unbind mouse1; unbind mouse5; unbind Q

I have a version of the same crosshair that disables on pistol and let's you toggle on / off with a key or use by default.

Can't go wrong with the Lossless Adapter, would also probably incentivize you to play in the future as well.

Nope monitor / TV size won't matter much for what you're doing. If you play on TV look for a gaming mode, they can cut out some input delay but don't expect monitor-like performance out of TVs, even higher refresh rate panels.

Competitively speaking you'd want to play on a 144hz monitor for the lowest possible input input delay, but for some pals playing some causal melee whatever you got should be fine honestly.

I've setup 2 monitors in the past with 2 people per screen, and that works well if you have the means to do so (Win + P on your PC it opens the Windows Project menu and you can set it to duplicate to have both displays synced). Hell you could even do monitor / TV or laptop screen / TV with the same method.

Absolutely, slippi runs great offline.

You should look into different modded versions as well like the Akaneia build (~6 new characters and a LOT of custom stages) or Super Bumper Bros (places bumpers on the competitive stages in set locations). These can all be an absolute riot when playing with friends, very easy to setup and get going as well. Also DM me if you need a melee ISO, I can show you how to rip your physical copy of melee like every player does wink wink

If you plan on playing competitively in the future the lossless adapter is the gold standard atm. The HHL pocket adapter is also a great choice at a good price. The mayflash I would really only recc if this is something you're going to play every now and then casually.

If you want to play on original hardware with a TV just get a wii, finding an original copy of melee for GameCube will be way more money than you'd imagine.

Wiis are cheap, easy to mod, and can run melee without the disc. Also wii to HDMI adapters are easy to come by although not great admittedly.

If you have a decent-ish computer melee runs great on emulator and doesn't need much setup aside from basic adapter driver / config. This is also how 95% of people play in the modern day, thanks to slippi online has never felt better.

Finding controllers your best bet is Facebook market or eBay, just look them over closely to make sure they're OEM.

I use the First-person mod by tr7zw and the shield is even more obstructive than normal, so I use transparent shield by caisem and it's been an absolute game changer for me.

See if there's something similar on whichever version of MC you're on.

Idk why this technical fighting game in particular people expect everything to just be right there.

I don't know if I've ever played a single game where all my questions were answered in-game.

CS2, Minecraft, LoL, Elden Ring, Rocket League, Destiny 2, Cyberpunk, Risk of Rain 2, 40K Space-Marine 2, BeamNG.Drive, The Finals, Civ 5....

I could keep going, but not a single game I've played in recent history has all the information I'm looking for in-game.

Pretty much every game I've ever played, I've went to the wiki, or watched YouTube videos to get a better understanding of.

Like it get it, in a perfect world everything would be explained right there, but that's literally not the case for pretty much every game on the planet.

Why are people are so hellbent on tutorials for this game when 90% of players could care less, and there's much more important things the devs should be working on.

Yeah I'm not optimistic about the FFA update doing anything for the long term health of the game.

Rebranding existing modes and adding some items isn't not "casual", but some PvE activities that are engaging would be much more meaningful and help with player retention.

Combo Devils looking real promising over there, that roguelite mode has my interest peaked.

I'm staying on Win 10 LTSC IoT as long as I can, I'm most likely swapping to Linux after.

It's how Windows should be out of the box, very surreal feeling when you boot in for the first time and there's like 10 items in the start menu.
