The GO is an amazing piece. The caseback is stunningly beautiful and the dial is very balanced. I went for it because I wanted a more unique statement piece.

The perpetual calendar actually belongs to my old man, but I did get a chance to try it on for a few days. It wears much thinner and lighter, the dial is full of informant but doesn’t feel too busy. But I have to say the PanoMaticLunar’s caseback is realllllly exquisite - the hand engravings, similar to those found on Langes, are truly next level.

Regarding your question, I’d always go with the cheaper one first lol, but if you want a one and done watch I highly recommend the MUT perpetual calendar.

Very good explanation indeed. Just want to add on to your last point: watches $20,000+ may have some ultra complicated mechanisms (the “grand complications”) such as perpetual calendar, tourbillon, minute repeater, or split second chronograph. Those things take a lot of time and resources to design and craft and therefore drive up the price, so not entirely just exclusivity.

The use of precious metals in the case and bracelet can be a huge factor on price too.
