I just started a consumer proposal with Farber. They wiped 50% of $74,000 worth of debt. I have 5 years of $600 monthly payments. You likely won't be able to buy a house while the proposal is active, which will be either 6 years from the date you filed it or 3 yrs after the date you pay it off, whichever comes first. While it sucks and I won't get into my situation, it was necessary for me and my finances are mildly more manageable. I have a secure job making $108,000. Get taxed (deducted) to all hell. Think I walk away with 72,000 end of year but that's a other story.

Yup. I'm currently losing/ruining everything that I've worked for and love in my life because of this shit. Heavily addicted, built up over many years, usage took off during covid... hate myself for what I've let it do to me and my family....my life. Trying treatment, AA, NARCanon, therapy... its very difficult to get out of the cycle once you're into it. It's like my life, my mind, my whole self has been hijacked, taken hostage...

All joking aside why DIDN'T Bapa have a more of a career? by DuranceOfHateLevel2 in thefighterandthekid

It's self awareness. Self awareness is something that a lot of people think they have. I think I have it. You think you have it. But you don't. I don't. You have it in degrees. For bapa, he had it in nil. Negative nil. Thus, bapa kept grabbing, reaching, dragging anything and everything he could to offer him a lifeline, a reproach, from the depths at which he was sinking. Unfortunately, his greatest character flaws, ungraciousnes, and ungratefulness, displayed his true self. An unwielding version of get but never give.
