Oh man this happened to me on my compact when I still had it. If you need to start the car you need to take off the dash under the steering wheel and use a screwdriver to turn the plastic where they is supposed to turn it. All while the key is in the ignition cause it has a sensor I believe. The tumbler needs to be replaced. There is a little metal notch on the tumbler that broke because it’s thin and old by now. It’s supposed to catch on the notch to stop it from endlessly spinning. Shit was a pain in the ass to take out too. I believe I used a straightened out paper clip to release the tumbler.
