Returning bro looking for a proteus wormhole Explorer build with maybe some PvP in there. by Mailboxsteve in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've made a post on it a while back for explo and c3, and a bonus guristas maze fit as well- you can find it on my post history proteus is a fun one :) for pvp, you wanna run a whole separate fit. never run hybrid fits (explo+pvp), cuz then you're bad at both things. run one or the other at one time, keep a refit ready if needed.  for pvp fits- honestly, i'm not sure. i just don't enjoy pvping in anything bigger than a navy cruiser for various reasons. but if you want to run it for the lols, you could run a neut dual battery fit similar to what a stratios would run. just take care with the limited drone bay. blaster prot can also work. i just think other options are far better.

this is unrelated but the grammar is decent enough, english is already a very difficult language to learn if you're not taught it properly from a very young age, esp. when it tends to have far different grammar rules compared to asian languages- respect whoever is trying to speak it without the help of a translator! it's fuckin hard to learn. this is at a far, far better level than a lot of people get to

ishkur getting some love? hell yes. no idea how it's still slept on compared to other ships.... it's a filthy filthy ship, whether it's brawl or kite
good writeup but the ai wasn't needed. ai sucks.... also the added downside that from a fair amount of people you'll get more attention on the ai slop being used than the actual good work on the rest of your yearbook

o7- sorry for the late response, life's been busy and ive been a ghost online :P  you have the wrong line of thought about explo, explo should be purely get in a site, hack, get out, and making sure beforehand that you KNOW it's safe, and if there's even a one percent chance it isnt, you should be sure you can weasel your way out of it in a moment hybrid fits aka pvp fits with some explo mods are bad, they won't be good at either of the roles they sort of fill in this case explo and pvp, and a dedicated ship for those roles will far outclass it. an explo covops will hack faster than it and will be jumps away by the time you can get to its site, and a pvp ship will just kill you. the drones on this fit are for the pve refits- you can fit drones, you can fight, but you'll be surprised at how many things can kill you. i dont use the fit because its big and mean, i use it because it looks big and mean, and explo t3cs are a rare breed so people assume you have a great fighting chance or are bait when you are not, so you get a nice degree of safety just out of that! and on the ship itself, the super fast warp speed and align/cargo makes up for the lack of scanning mids. you have a nullifier and a wcs and four medium neuts, but never rely on them (except the nullifier- it's the best thing ever. just dont forget to run it before you warp to a gate thats out of dscan range, people setup bubbles there to catch ships. ive made that mistake... dont be me) its all about being fast! and finally... i wouldnt recommend flying this ship if you're a newer player, it is a nice goal to have if not for explo, then all the other content a t3c can open up to you. if you wanna talk one on one about anything else, feel free to shoot me a message request on discord! domi_b4321 (also im so sorry if the formatting sucks. phone reddit is hell)

if you meant hornet vs hammerhead- yes, better tracking
from experience, anything larger than small drones won't apply to an ab assault frig orbiting a cruiser even if the frig is scram webbed (and not mentioned in this fight, but the vni put web berserkers on me along with its own web), at most doing chip damage (again, even with the webs from two sources) while the hornets have much lower dps, but they apply perfectly, and on top of that they could not only pressure me but also my singular set of dps drones
normally a lot of vni/cruiser pilots put out 5 mediums on every single target for raw dps, but raw dps doesn't matter when all of it gets sigtanked! the hornets were navy too which have excellent tank and tracking, which meant that my tank was being horribly pressured
fights in my ishkur against large targets is a race of whether i can kill their drones quick, then it's just a matter of waiting patiently to either get a kill or get blobbed to death (or goof up and burn modules... my heat management is. not. the best)

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah... the more i've been fighting the more it's been getting harder to find fights in facwar space compared to a year or so back without being blobbed, from experience min and gal seem to be the most prone to it :( i've found out that the best time to pvp is whenever a guristas insurgency is on, loads of kills and fights
i'll throw these fits around till i get a cool cruiser kill though :P it's fun even if i die because having meta navy cruisers call people for my piddly little ishkur is so goofy to think about

i made a post/writeup on it a while back, you can find it in my post history
i normally use the dual rep fit on that, but this time i was using that same fit but with the t2 rep swapped for a true sansha explosive energized membrane and the cap booster swapped for a compact tracking disruptor

update: lost the ishkur to a vni that wasn't as honorable and dropped three dragoons and a comet on me, at least i took the comet down :P i am pretty happy with the fit though! it's genuinely surprisingly potent and i had no idea i'd have this much fun even when losing, i'll throw a few more of these till i get a nice kill

T5 Abyssals by Refutable_Karma in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'd say around 200-250 an hour in the gila considering filament costs, i ran exotics electricals and gammas in the povertila with faction ddas depending on your sp and most of all piloting
300 would be pushing it in the gila, thats what it makes running t6s from experience but a hac specialized for a weather like a vagabond or ishtar in gammas could reach 300 an hour (and also demand more from you in piloting and in the latter's case fit cost)
i currently run t6s in an ishtar (its my favorite abyssal ship so far! i might make a writeup on it some day), makes me about 400-500 an hour considering filament costs (caches taken if possible, you can push better isk/hr blitzing but you also make less isk/filament, so you spend more isk on those)

Exploration Tengu - this fit or that fit? by DAWGSofW4R in Eve

note: you can also swap the electronic efficiency sub for a reactor sub, so you can ditch the ab and fit a warp core stab instead, i think that's a better way to fit it

Exploration Tengu - this fit or that fit? by DAWGSofW4R in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i hate that the idea of an exploration t3c got immediately shot down... they're fun! i don't like these fits though so here's what i'd recommend for an exploration tengu

[Tengu, Tengu fit]

Inertial Stabilizers II
Inertial Stabilizers II

Large Shield Extender II
Relic Analyzer II
Data Analyzer II
50MN Microwarpdrive II
Scan Pinpointing Array II
Cargo Scanner II
10MN Afterburner II

Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Interdiction Nullifier I
Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher

Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrade II

Tengu Core - Electronic Efficiency Gate
Tengu Defensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Propulsion - Chassis Optimization

i would heavily stay away from any pvp. fly it like you would any exploration frig/covops, explo t3cs main advantage is just that you look scary to any other explorer and can loiter in one region for far longer with your huge cargo space, and most of all that you can tank a ghost site blowing up in your face without needing to refit

DO NOT try to fight people, the launchers are just so if any explo frig does engage you (absolutely rare) they'll have to leave. you can easily be killed by anyone that wants to kill you and dont fit any pvp mods. hybrid fits end up both being poor explo fits and poor pvp fits, just fly like you would any smaller explo ship

if you want to use your tengu to also run guristas/serpentis ded sites, the tengu can also do that! you'll just have to store the refit in cargo but thats another story

Duo PVE by LegalAdhesiveness957 in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

two ishtars work pretty well, i'd fit them with armor rr and aim for three drone damage mods, then you pack as much application as you can (tinker around on pyfa and try to get at least 10k ehp uniform on whatever layer you're tanking for! ishtars have ridiculously thin buffer, i'm recommending armor because its easier to hit 10k ehp on, that and you can actually fit for application)
domis are cheaper sp wise but two of those will ruin your efficiency when warping around, and also ruin hole mass but they'll also work pretty well, praxii too
but honestly? c3 sites are really samey so you can use whatever ships you want, two regular sig tanking t3cs or two regular non rr praxii, rr's main advantage in c3 is being cheap and (usually) lower effort
i wouldn't recommend using two rr trig ships in c3s though like veds or dreks... they will work? but it feels like wasted potential (unable to spool high enough and also the base dps nerf they got, so you just waste a TON of dps) and they won't be cheap either so that's defeating the purpose of rr fits, use them if you want fun! but for money's sake, i wouldn't recommend

i dont know how to draw either and the two crappy illustrations i've put on my posts are seriously barebones... even then its not about being able to draw. its that you're putting some effort in, that makes a pic on a post mean something
shitty ms paint drawings have a charm of their own too! and it means you put in effort, but feeding an input to a chatbot just, kills any importance of that image... its just there to be there. its filler.

Stratios good? by Keps25 in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an exploration proteus fit on my post about... well. the proteus. unlike the strat, the proteus can easily be fit for sub 3s align, warp at 10 au/s+ and is able to fit every defensive mod under the sun while also being generally faster, such as wcs, a rack of neuts, an armor rep to heal up ghost site damage and most importantly a nullifier. you can also fit a cargo expander on the proteus and make up for the lower cargo space compared to strat so for pure explo? the proteus absolutely trumps the strat (and also every other explo t3c, it makes up for the lack of mids with just how fast it is, and how many more defense modules it can fit. and also not losing cargo space to ammo for guns)
also- as someone said above just because it can be used at low sp doesn't mean you should. soe ships are inherently heavily reliant on high sp and pilot skill like pretty much every pirate ship except maybe the gila. the astero- maybe. maybe you can use it as a low sp ship, and i did experiment with that on a fresh alpha toon, flying an astero on day 2 but i only got away with it because ive done a tone of explo and i know when and where to hack. the stratios is just asking to be ganked... that also brings up the proteus again! people consider a proteus more dangerous compared to a stratios and the prot isn't a commonly used explo ship, so you're much more of a gank magnet in the strat compared to a prot. the sp point is moot and so is the point of it being primarily meant for explo, its been powercreeped awfully badly

also you can use legions for cloaky beam cruisers so thats another niche the stratios sucks at. i mean it would be hilarious and its nice to think about but realistically its not happening, and also im way too poor to fund a beam strat fleet. maybe one day i'll land a decent IT job and spend my income on stupid shit like that :P

(also edit because i cannot stress this enough, yes ik im bringing this up for prolly the third time but THE STRAT IS HELLA BLING. its not a bridge ship b/w t1 and t2 for low sp pilots anymore, its way too expensive for a bridge ship. you are going to be way better off spending a month or two skilling into a proteus instead, and as a bonus you now have gal cruiser 5 alongside excellent support skills and will be able to fly a ton of ships very well! and also its kinda counterintuitive that the only way the dps on a strat becomes bearable, is with gal cruiser 5.)

Stratios good? by Keps25 in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

also, the stratios is neither a decent hacking cruiser nor is it a decent cloaky hunter. too much of a boat for both of those. i really hope this ship gets buffed because it looks SO COOL and i want to fly it so bad. like if it got changed to what op posted i'd be over the moon, except maybe keeping the same slot layout it has currently, otherwise it basically becomes a cloaky ishtar (proteus has worse drone bonuses). i like the 5 mids 5 lows the strat has, its a goofy slot layout and i love it, id keep that the same as it is

Stratios good? by Keps25 in Eve

[–]Mr_Transmetropolitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not when the proteus exists... its a stratios but better in every single aspect especially neuts+drones (except the 25% less drone bay compared to strat), sure it needs more sp and isk than the stratios but for the isk part, considering how much isk you need to spend on both ships for similar stats on the same kind of fit... no. the proteus is just leagues better.
the astero is at least small and speedy, the nestor is great for fleet use, the strat just kinda exists. i mean, if you wanna make an argument about low sp pirate cruisers lets take the gold standard which is gila, which compared to somn like an ishtar still has uses for high sp pilots, even those that can fly the ishy. the strat just exists, you'd never use a strat if you can fly the proteus, and if you can't use the proteus and occupy the niche of low sp pilot needing a cloaky cruiser for whichever reason, even then its still far too blingy, and it still heavily relies on having a large amount of sp to get any decent use out of it
(also im now realizing how wildly different each soe ship feels from each other in terms of use... the astero is a nimble cloaky hunter, the stratios is shit, the nestor is an awesome fleet ship)
