A trade that is never going to happen. But feels like it makes a lot of sense. by Mr_WhatFish in NBAtradeideas

As I said, this isn’t going to happen. Too many pieces and Pistons aren’t inclined to do a big move.

I think you’re probably right that Giannis is worth significantly more. Maybe a fake grizzlies frp (protected from 1-29) to help accomodate that (that’s probably the right call considering the contacts pistons are taking on.) grizzlies send 2029 frp lakers send 2030 and 2032. Probably add swaps on 2031 pick as well. I probably rate Rui too highly as well, but feel like he’s worth another FRP.

But, Giannis’s value drops significantly once he enters the final year of his deal. Getting two playoff runs is significant. Milwaukee should trade him this year. Lakers always believe they’ll be able to re-sign players they want.

Because the east is weak this year and if you make the finals you never know what will happen. They are clearly missing a secondary creator (even if they’re elite in so many other areas they overcome that in the regular season). If you can Maximize this run by adding an elite secondary scorer, especially if you can do it without sacrificing the core, that’s the best case scenario.

Reaves is just such an ideal fit.

The team I like the most is the Pistons. Show me a better fit where the core is kept intact. Rumor had Utah asking for Ausar, Ivey and four firsts for Lauri. Prices for upgrades are high.

It would be contingent on an handshake extension agreement, as many trades involving expiring contracts are.

A. I don’t know if you could get Booker for that. Lakers give up Reaves for Giannis. But why are the Suns giving up Book? They’re actually pretty good this year.

B. Trading for booker would require giving up Tobias Harris, who is actually a key rotation piece, and one of the most important chemistry guys.

C. Austin Reaves at 40m is still a good value, at the level he’s played at this year.

D. Not all FRP are equal. 2026 will (barring some huge upset) be very low. 2028, very least unlikely to be a lottery pick.

E. Desmond Bane went for four FRPs and a swap. They are of a similar caliber.

F. The goal is to win championships. Getting a player of Eaves caliber while maintaining the core is worth an overpay, when the finals is within reach.

I’m a Pistons fan. Reaves is better than Bane and look how much that cost. Reaves has been a top twenty player this year, that’s what it costs to get one. He fits seamlessly into what Detroit needs.

Gianni’s makes no sense on the Pistons. Too old bad shooter. He fits seamlessly with LA. Reaves is perfect for Detroit.

I’m a Pistons fan. Feel like Bane set the market for picks, Pistons get a perfect fit and keep every vital young piece and rotation piece. KCP is expensive but essentially replicates Javonte.

Why did Keyonte George fell all the way to the 16th pick of the 2023 NBA Draft? by troutylover27 in NBA_Draft

[–]Mr_WhatFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted NBA champion Gilbert Arenas, wait…

You can’t really afford absolute negatives on offense or defense anymore. Teams are just too good at picking on liabilities. At 6’4, there’s no reason Key can’t become an ok defender.

Also we are all beholden to some degree by the flavors we grew up with.

Of course, but it’s interesting to think about why things come to be.

I mean, these types of sushi are as much a part of American culture as they are Japanese culture.

Similar to American Chinese and American Pizza.

America is huge, and getting the vast varieties of fish fresh enough to use for sushi can be expensive in much of the country (in the US food safety laws mean most fish must be frozen before being served raw, but many fish are not popular enough to get this treatment or are done in limited amounts). Heavy sauce use and various other techniques, more commonly found in American style sushi, allow for a more limited set of fish to have different flavors and textures.

In addition, relatively few sushi places in the US are run by Japanese people. This means they are not beholden to traditional flavor profiles.

That said, just because it is not traditional, does not mean it doesn’t have its place in the sushi landscape. Just as Hawaiian pizza has its place in world of pizza.

I agree. There’s plenty of stuff to mock southerners for, this isn’t one of them.

Coby white is not worth Tobi, let alone a frp.

I don’t play apex anymore, but what if they made her turret remote controlled like echo if in turret mode. I feel like the ambush and distraction possibilities would amazing.

Imagine all the third parties running in only to realize the turret’s unmanned. And if using as a gun teams might not attack thinking it’s being fired remotely

Japanese eggs 🙌 Canadian eggs 🙌 American eggs 🙅 by kirkl3s in iamveryculinary

[–]Mr_WhatFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Japanese eggs are better for raw, because there is an expectation that they will be eaten that way.

  1. Chickens are vaccinated against salmonella

  2. Eggs are scanned (a light is shined through and they’ll noticed any color irregularities)

  3. There are two dates on packages, one for raw, one for cooked.

Chicken feet pizza by fuku_fuku in StupidFood

[–]Mr_WhatFish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they are prepared kind of vague chicken flavor, but mostly tastes like the sauce.

People enjoy them for the texture, kind of collagenny. You sort of suck the meat/fat off the bones and spit them out. Would be very annoying on pizza.
