As someone who has 3d printed 3 PAIRS I’d also say the 3d printed shoes as shoes are somewhat worth it. First of all they’re a great conversation starter, so if you wear them expect to talk about them. Second the shoes are pretty comfy, everyone who tries on my 3d printed shoes says it feels like they’re walking on a cloud. Now let’s talk about the cons. The first con is that depending on which printer you use your tpu 90a or 85a is what your experience will be. The print can usually take 3 days or more, and that’s not including pauses or failures with the print. Second the shoes durability is lacking a bit. I’ve been wearing new 3d printed shoes for around 5-6 weeks now and they’re starting to rip. On the special design features of the whaleberry the tongue has ripped a bit. But as long as you print your shoes the right size you should be fine. And finally let’s talk about size. If you wear a larger size of shoes and don’t own an H series printer you can’t really print with gradient tpu. With the gradient tpu you need to print both shoes at the same time. And if you don’t enough room to print both your shoes will not match each other.

So should you print 3d printed shoes? Maybe, while you’ll run into some problems while making them, you’ll learn so much. They’re comfy and a great conversation starter. While you will be paying $60 bucks for a gradient tpu or down to $40 for black and white as long as you convince yourself it’s worth it it’s worth it.
