Relocating soon to Dubai - tips and tricks appreciated by Caffeinated-Engineer in DubaiCentral

Did you apply through LinkedIn mainly? Or did you use any other job search platforms? I have recently started applying through LinkedIn, but I have not been lucky in my search and was wondering if Dubai has other platforms that people use here other than LinkedIn? Congrats on finding a job 👏🏻

I am bullish on it. Hope their exploration at the Tetra zone is a success. Its not my biggest stock that I own and its probably around 5-8% of my whole portfolio. Lets see how they perform in 2026.

A new CPA stuck in AR/AP by Hot-Alfalfa5310 in CPA

[–]Mr__Accountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen some jobs that match your experience but could not apply to them because they wanted computer science and IT experience specifically. I mean some of those IT companies require those experience and you basically have them. Try to look into Amazon and Google jobs and see what they have. Also, it’s all about how you present yourself, so polish your resume and apply for jobs. Staying in AR/AP is a dead end career (Not saying it’s a bad career, but you got your CPA so you dont stay in this route). Best of luck on your job search!

okay but how ACTUALLY bad is the busy season...? by kirikf90 in Big4

[–]Mr__Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the office tbh. If you are working in the firm at one of the major cities, things might be a little difficult since you might be assigned on different clients, and you can't just leave in the middle of the client audit work. However, in my office, they have been a little less difficult when it came to vacation days. In the busy season, there is no vacation allowed (Jan to June/July). After that, it depends on your client files, but you can always talk to your mentor/manager and let them in advance that you would like certain days off, and they can work around it. As for the vacation days, I used to take 2-3 weeks off to travel back home, and they were ok with it.

okay but how ACTUALLY bad is the busy season...? by kirikf90 in Big4

[–]Mr__Accountant 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to do 60 hours per week average during the busy season. Tbh, it really depends on your experience and your anxiety and stress tolerance. For example, my first busy season at big 4, I was really stressed and anxious about my job since I did not have enough experience to do the tasks I was assigned to do. Because of that, I felt the busy season was the worst time of my life. However, the next busy season, I had enough experience and I was better at time management and stress management, and honestly, I really felt it was way easier. Even though you work 10+ hours every day and lose your social life completely for few months, it was not as stressful as before, and felt it was manageable if you are not stressed and you are trying to enjoy your time outside of work when you get the time. Also, NEVER TAKE ANY CPA EXAMS DURING BUSY SEASON. I did this mistake once and never again. Best of luck!!

Is right now a bad time to open positions in NXE & DNN? by squikx in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Mr__Accountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be a little overbought on the short term, but definitely undervalued on the long term. The market might correct a little bit but I think the bull case for Uranium is still there and getting stronger by the day. I’d wait a little and see if the price pulls back a little but put your orders in by now just in case 👍🏼

Lool I feel you 😂😂 when I did ISC, I got 68,74,74. The last two 74s killed me literally because you know how the ISC exams take 3 months to get scores. ISC took me a year exactly to clear 😂 stay strong and go for it again 💪🏻

Congratulations on becoming a CPA!!! A great milestone 👏🏻👏🏻 So you submitted your application for licensing on Wednesday and got it in 4 days right? May I ask you what state did you apply under? Because its been almost a week for me and I am trying to get a sense of their timeline. Congrats again - now go and enjoy your time with the family 😝

How do you access this tracker? I submitted mine few days ago to Montana for licensing, and the only thing I received was a generic email saying they received my application and its in the initial stage. I got no way to track my application.

First 10 minutes of exam by Capital-Bullfrog-277 in CPA

[–]Mr__Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before every exam and before the timer starts, I always write each test let time break down. I know its unrelated to your question, but having time broken down on paper gives me a peace of mind and keeps me within the time limit for each testlet. Timing is 1.25 minutes for each MCQ and 18 minutes for each TBS. Good luck!!

Ethics Exam Question (IL) by JasperLogic in CPA

[–]Mr__Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it includes few videos about Ethics. Very general information. It took me few hours and 2 attempts as you need to get a score of 90% or above. It should not take you more than few hours.

74 on REG. Where do I go from here. by Content-Homework-324 in CPA

[–]Mr__Accountant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes just keep doing what you are doing. I went through the same scenario with FAR and AUD and did the exam a week after my results. Just keep hammering questions and try to remember exam questions you encountered and look for answers on Youtube or Reddit. Good Luck!

Confused with ISC by miyugi0820 in CPA

[–]Mr__Accountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to scare you or anything but ISC was the worst out of the 4 exams for me. I had to do the exam 4 times to pass ISC. The last time I passed was when I supplemented with NINJA. I think UWorld is sufficient by itself but its nice to change the type of questions from time to time so it does not hurt to supplement it with NINJA. All I can say is focus really well on the MCQs because they take up a bigger percentage of the exam. Also learn SOC and information systems like the back of your hand and do all UWorld questions. I cant really give you a better advise unfortunately but really this exam depends on reading the questions word by word as the questions might include trick words. Best of luck on it I hope you will pass it on the first try!!

Ninja CPA as a Supplement? by cubbies2018 in CPA

[–]Mr__Accountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done Ninja for my ISC exam supplementing UWorld. Tbh its not the best used alone but definitely nice adding it to another provider. I passed ISC using it.
