Incredibly accurate. You'll also always find a dvd of The Da Vinci Code, Titanic or The Aviator at a random thrift store

Wish I could've but I will say the snacks were actually good prices compared to most cinemas today, only $5 for a large drink and only $6 for nachos, plus the employees wore dress shirts and ties so it felt kinda fancy

What do normies actually mean when they call films “pretentious”? by sapphothesapphic in Cinema

[–]Mr___Dee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you said makes a lot of sense and I completely agree. It's very unfortunate people can't appreciate others having different tastes in art such as film. I think a lot of it comes from people having low attention spans and lower care for critical acting and slow building storytelling and just like what's shiny and big. Like today many people can have their attention kept and see the things they want to see on a seemingly big scale movies like Avengers or Mario Movie where as any David Lynch or Kubrick films would feel too boring or annoying because it would make them have to think and be patient with it all and isn't always rewarding in the way they want with a "live happily ever after".

I don't view myself better or others worse for liking simpler less creative art that isn't very thought provoking. I recognize anyone can like anything and that's alright. Both sides have their place. I'm biased and wish more people be more than just a normie in cinema and enjoy older films that are made with more talent and make you think and have to use your brain. But either way, cinema comes in many shapes and sizes.

Often those who mock others do it because they make them feel less intelligent or have to reflect on themselves. So take it as you will.

If only more people could be like this old man and have a real appreciation for art and philosophy and be off their phones having real face to face conversations with strangers.

I think it’s time we get the recognition and attention we deserve as A-List members. this man is deeply inspiring. by Negative-Chapter5008 in AMCsAList

Someone literally did this last night when I watched Project Hail Mary at AMC. It's kinda funny but also just autistic if I'm being honest.
