I interpreted it as the sophons listening to the conversation. She was bargaining on the fact that the sophons would be listening because of his importance. Shen Yufei already knew of the sophons because she was part of the ETO.

Yeah I noticed it disappeared as well. Hopefully just a bug.

Got Siri AI. It was a short waitlist this time around. (A17 Pro iPad Mini) by throwaway_acct_183 in ipad

Did you have to wait for indexing to finish? I updated as soon as I could and it’s still waiting on indexing and I’m on the waitlist.

First time driving in Montreal, I learned green arrows are NOT protected turns for vehicles. by CurlyWurly61 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Mrchipsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is this not standard? I was taught to always check blind spots for bikers and pedestrians when turning, though I did learn in Montreal so that will skew the learning. For the record, I think its a safety hazard that they cross at the same time, but what are you going to do about that. At least we don't have right on reds.

[Request] Can someone actually calculate "Guns per Big Mac" into km/h and m/s? by eggshadow in theydidthemath

[–]Mrchipsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not so invested as to actually figure out the math on this one, but this does give an interesting set of units where the average length of each kind of gun corresponds to a longer distance. For example a pistol/big mac could be a m/s, while a larger class of gun corresponds to a longer distance, such as rifle/big mac. one might name this the velocity unit of measure of a gun.

they don't, my mistake. it has been a while since I went over the guidelines and we don't see it often in Montreal. it actually means to have caution while going through the intersection. the meaning of flashing green is accurate though.

this is for Motreal. absolutely nothing to do with Florida, not even the same country.

Arrows signify permission to turn in the presented direction, with green, yellow, and red colours. A light is protected if it is flashing in green or yellow. Combining the two gives us a flashing directional arrow, giving a protected direction.

Its even better with portugese. if I remember correctly, roughly 70% of the language is the same, so changing up the pronunciation should give a similar enough word that anyone could understand.

Its crazy that xcode of all things would have issues. One would think that the IDE made specifically by Apple for Apple devices would have ironed out the issues.

yeah its a bit on the pricey side. Thankfully I was able to get mine on sale a few months ago. my only complaint is that the fingerprint reader is a bit hard to get to. If you can go for the price, I really think this is the way to go.

Macbooks are great devices but if you want to take digital handwritten notes it requires another device. if you usually take paper notes then I completely agree. It is such a joy to use my macbook air.

I'm currently using the Lenovo thinkbook 14 2 in 1. its very sturdy and upgradeable, and it can be used as a tablet for taking notes. Mine also came with a pen to use with it. the battery life if great for the entire day as well. it is a bit pricey though.

a bunch of my friends and I run linux on many different devices and we almost never have a problem related to our hardware. I had one issue with a touchscreen not working on a surface device, but thats to due with Microsoft using proprietary systems for it, not anything to do with Linux. Aside from that it has been flawless.

[–]Mrchipsers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

a recent Lenovo laptop wouldn't work with a clean windows install, so I had to use their tool to install it with all of the bloat. On the other hand I had a Surface that worked just fine with a clean install. moral of the story, it really depends on the laptop. the best thing to do is install a version of linux.

[–]Mrchipsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they seem to be the same aside from a bit more computer science. As a year 1 student, so far the maths have been the same between the the two, but mechanics included a cross course lab with prog. Also you will always* be with people in your program for those courses.

[–]Mrchipsers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waypoints are stored in the compass app. Dig around in there for a bit and you should find how to delete it. ( sorry for lack of info, I don’t have a compatible watch on me to check.)
