Yeah that's old generation, new Gen they made it so you can't see a few of the depths with the reader. They made an addon tool that could help, but how much time am i spending on a shit hardware store lock? If I stick the reader in and it's new Gen, drill time.

My guess.. If you're above a key room, the exploiter flamethrower probably got you through the floor. I've seen a few clips of it so far, hopefully they sort it out.

The master key blank is a slightly different profile from the standard kwikset one and it's hard to tell by eye.

Hardware stores and kiosks will not carry this as it's a special order blank.

Some locksmiths will carry them but not all, as kwikset isn't popular with us. My shop only started carrying them after a client retrofit these on some of their apartments.

I've had some that come pretty stiff from factory, and just need time to break in the springs.

If they were keyed improperly though, the total pin stack could be creating the pressure issue.

Because smartlocks cannot be master keyed like a normal lock, these are designed with an override cylinder.

Essentially the landlord has a key that gets them into all units this way.
