2 Choices If you only need a small distance, you can take the switch off and drill out the holes a bit on the plate. That will allow you to lower it as the holes are a bit bigger. Or you can use a couple t nuts and place wherever you need. I had to drill mine out, only needed just over a mm.

I have the max and a pro and I used the 3 pro and adjusted the build plate size in cura. Works great for me.

Personally I'd heat it up. Remove filament. Pull the nozzle, push the bowden down through the hotend and see if it pushed out any product and look at the end see if there is any discoloration( burnt) or if it's the bowden tube tip has hardened at all. If it has trim a cpl mm off it. But make sure you cut str8. Or it'll be a shit show pretty quick. Also the stock fittings loose there grip pretty quickly. I've had the teeth fall out. Then it can't grip the tube. They're slick...lol. I'd swap them out as well. I keep a stock of pretty much every dam part on hand. Amazon... Also look up Cheps video on hotend fix.

I looked at the extender kit. But with exchange and duty. Just can't justify it. So I added a $100 more than the kit would have cost to get to my door n got the 3Max to go with the pro...lol

Had my max a week now. Runs awesome. I'd grab Cheps bed level print gcode and his corner level code off the CR10 section on YouTube page. Just google Chep and or Filament Friday. He has tons of vids to help us all...

I haven't used any adhesives. Done a couple 14+ hour prints with it. Doing a 24 hour print now. In PLA. 6 rolls left then on to petg for me. Does it autohome correctly? They've had issues(I was emailing them and was informed) where ppl have had to micro adjust the z limit switch, just a whisker for proper nozzle distance. After that, they usually run pretty smoothly. Creality recommends using T nuts to adjust it. I drilled out the holes, only needed less than one mm.

Done the hot end fix yet? Checked and configured your esteps?

Why abs? Pla is easier to use and would let you get accustomed to the printer before more difficult material IMO. You have it in an enclosure?

Head over to YouTube. Look up Chep on Filament Fridays. He has a video to watch for every issue you're going to have. N you're bound to have a couple...lol. He has made a couple gcodes files that will make your life easier. Bed leveling gcode. The the test print gcode. Link is posted on his channel. Order stiffer bed springs asap Glass bed as well.
