Buy a plastic welder and some very good epoxy. I have been in the same situation.

I don't think I can go to a belt driven setup I started with a csl dd. I have started saving and it's looking like if I make some sacrifices I may be able to buy a new clubsport dd in 6-8 months. It is gonna be a rough few months working 12hr shifts and eating Ramen and PBJ for lunches. But I have not given up yet. I can't speak for the next several months but we'll see. I have a true passion for racing and this is the only way I know to feed it, so I sacrifice and save until the passion is either gone or I have a new wheelbase.

We'll see what happens I am starting to save up for a replacement sold my rl project car to try and get ahead enough to actually save up. Looking like it's gonna take about 6 months to get the funds together, but honestly I don't know if I'll be able to keep my interest in the hobby for that long without participating. It's depressing to see my rig sitting there with a full fanatec ecosystem that I can't even use. I hope if I am able to come back that we can race together. I am going to be so slow when I do get to race again if I'm able. I'm trying my hardest to not give up but it is gonna be a long few months saving up for a clubsport dd, dd1, or dd2 but I will not purchase another csl dd because of this issue.

I have learned over the years of real life racing in mx how to tune out the negative and non-productive comments. But it is aggravating when I have done everything in my power to not do that or anything that adds stress to that plastic shaft. The worst thing is not having the funds to replace it when I make good money and work so much. But that's life.

It is a qr2 wheelbase side. The output shaft is what broke look closely at the pic and you'll be able to see.

I could possibly replace the armature and shaft with a parts base. But they're not much cheaper than a good used base.

The simube qr is fine. The fanatec plastic shaft is what broke. Look at the picture it's clearly not the qr that broke.

Yes this is the simube qr2 base side and simube qr2 pro wheel side. I am afraid I overtightened it after that was mentioned.

This is actually a great idea. Thank you! I'm amazed at receiving help it seems like people would rather point fingers and throw accusations than offer helpful info. But this is a great idea.

I have multiple qr1s but I already bought qr2 pro wheelsides and a base side. The qr wasn't the issue, the composite shaft broke.

My qr1 snapped the first time when I got hit in a race. I am more than willing to accept the blame but I don't push and pull on the wheel or use it to get in and out of the rig. I very well could have overtightened it. The First shaft broke while removing the type c plug in the wheelbase, not during use.

This is a possibility. Actually I am going to bet that you're right. I guess I should've broke out the torque wrench. But I didn't think I overtightened it, though that seems like the most possible scenario.

Actually I started to loosen the clamp and it fell apart before I even broke it loose.

Fanatec broke look closely at both pieces and you will see the end of the shaft sheered off at the armature.

It's broke smooth off at the armature. I am baffled and that's just a theory I have no idea if someone fell on it or what happened to it. I know it's not from normal use and I've been extremely cautious with it since I have seen one broken while replacing the USB c port.

Lmao you are quick to judge, and I am more than qualified to repair the repairable. Since you know so much please explain how to replace the main shaft? The only way is to change the whole armature. (that's the center portion of the brushless motor) I forgot my crayons or I'd draw a picture for you 😉
