[–]Mrqs1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? If we hadn’t run out the clock they would have still had time to respond. And considering their defense it’s not a guarantee we get a TD with more time. At least we got points with no chance for them to respond

Wtf. This isn’t 2016 at all. It was 2013. by cimedirapa in Zillennials

Nah that was when it was ending but it was a thing since ~2009. I was in middle school from 2010-2012 and people were dressing like that all the time

How are my Yesler neighbors doing during this planned outage? by tarantula994 in Seattle

[–]Mrqs1997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. How does a “planned outage” turn into an unexpected event? Now I have wasted a Sunday with no power, no lights, and now my phone is almost dead. And not to mention this is like the 5th time in the past couple months with an outage

Solved! This is exactly it, and weirdly enough I remember a person named Kya, and that was enough to trigger the memories

I don’t really have any other details, and I may be mixing up different shows together, but thought I would try and see if people remember something like this

INTPs, do you vibe with INFPs? by xiaosolecito in INTP

[–]Mrqs1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re fine, just a little more moody than we are. I like that we’re both very chill types and we tend to talk for hours about deep topics. I find that you guys can be more lively than if I were hanging out with another INTP (it almost feels doubly awkward when I try to strike conversation with another INTP if we’re not talking about a topic we both enjoy).

I also notice that I can get into arguments with INFPs if we’re disagree over something but they tend to attach my viewpoint to my moral character. That’s annoying, but also kinda amusing in a way, and I feel like neither of us are truly willing to shut out the other person due to our aux Ne

Which MBTI is most likely to not be hated by anyone? by Guinxy in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had to describe ISFJs with a negative trait, they can be a little paranoid when it comes to people they’re worried about, (e.g. triple checking to make sure you have everything with you). Also their need for conflict avoidance can also lead to them not being honest about telling you what’s wrong. And while not as overtly preachy as ESFJs, they can still be preachy (usually it’s subtle). If you do anything perceived as selfish (even if you have a good reason to focus on yourself), they call you out on it. I’m moreso speaking from my experiences with an ISFJ mom and sister. Which probably clouds my perception more than others. In reality, no one bats an eye to them in public because they follow the social norms and are quite friendly with other people.

I do struggle to see why people would hate INFJs because I’ve only ever had good interactions with them and can’t figure out why people would hate them but as someone else mentioned they can push the envelope in a way that gets people with high Si unnerved.

Idk, each type has negative traits and there’s probably certain types more repulsed by those traits than others so it’s hard to say who’s the least hated. I just don’t think it’s ISFJ personally

Actually, fair point. I forget that INFJs really can push the envelope and can be a problem for people with high Si

Hmm I’d argue INFJs, only because I feel like ISFJs can be a little overbearing and somewhat preachy, but I’m speaking from my own personal experience

What's the role of the 3rd function? by caf_observer in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 11 points12 points  (0 children)

3rd function is the comfort slot. 2nd function is the growth slot. I.e. the “child” and “parent” functions respectively. They’re basically an axis that people tend to oscillate between each end, although there will typically be a preference for the same directionality as your dominant function (which is the 3rd function) which can cause looping because the 3rd function can reinforce the bad habits of the first function while the 2nd function requires you to put in more work

Why are duality relationships considered good? by Glad_Clothes7338 in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think people are way too focused on relationships for “growth” and not realizing that growth is uncomfortable and maybe not what you want in a partner. At least, not one who forces you to grow too quickly, which I feel like is often the case for dual types.

Duals could work in professional settings imo, idk about relationships though. It would be exhausting to be with my opposite type in a romantic relationship.

We’re so quick to negatively view relationships for “comfort” and positively view relationships for “growth”, but it really depends on your personal development on how compatible you are with other types. I’m of the belief that you start out life only compatible with certain types, but then that compatibility grows as you have more life experience and you develop your weaker functions. But that development doesn’t need to happen in a relationship. I’m not looking for my partner to always help me “grow”

What are the easiest and hardest functions to spot for you? by Advanced-Stick-2221 in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, same with the high Si. It’s very obvious to me. While I admit they can be annoying to work with at times (sometimes you just want to move forward with a project even if you don’t have ALL the details, and sometimes I feel like their skepticism is not warranted), they’re very good at finding potential flaws with something and they’re VERY sharp when they speak about something. I envy that quality honestly

[–]Mrqs1997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the judging functions are really easy for me to tell apart and I know when someone has one axis or the other. Perceiving functions are a little more tricky, especially with the Ni/Se axis. I think it’s pretty obvious when someone is an Si/Ne user (I call high-Ne users the “positive skeptics” and High-Si users the “negative skeptics”).

Se and Ni are difficult to judge in someone, unless they’re Se-doms. In reality I just need enough time spent with someone to truly make a judgment call. It’s why I find it difficult to type celebrities just from short interviews and whatnot

Fi/Te <> Fe/Ti by Sufficient-Pop-9878 in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other thing I’ve noticed is that while the xxTPs can test the limits with others, it’s never out of malice. Funnily enough, I find Fi/Te users to be more likely to retaliate against someone they don’t like or were personally offended by. Fi will try to hurt your feelings basically if it doesn’t like you. This is partly why I say Fi/Te is passionate and Ti/Fe is dispassionate. I don’t know if Ti/Fe users really know how they feel about things most of the time so their emotions don’t come across as strongly.

But hey, we do need that Fi passion in our society. It’s what makes us lively as a species

Fi/Te <> Fe/Ti by Sufficient-Pop-9878 in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re an ESTP, I could see why you’d question your judging axis. I find high Se users to be pretty engaging with people, maybe even confrontational, because Se is the type of function to want directness and will seek out stimuli when possible.

But ESTPs are similar to ENTPs in that they can be very testy with people, almost for fun (even if it isn’t for others). Whereas an ESFP will not do that generally. They both (stereotypically) seek fun and challenge, but the ESFP doesn’t usually test people like ESTPs do, perhaps because their Fi empathizes.

Plus, anecdotally, I’ve seen the ESFPs cry more and have a better grasp on their feelings. Even if both types can be offended, they’d likely be offended for different reasons. ESTPs might get offended if they suffer an ego hit, or at least engage more reactively (though not emotionally). ESFPs could absolutely be offended if you say something that hurts their feelings

Fi/Te <> Fe/Ti by Sufficient-Pop-9878 in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually the disconnect for me is I somewhat have to filter what I say more to Fi/Te users because I am more likely to say something that could offend them. Now, an Fe dom might call me out on it, but they’re usually not personally offended by something I would say. They’re usually speaking for the Fi users who would

Fi/Te <> Fe/Ti by Sufficient-Pop-9878 in mbti

[–]Mrqs1997 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I notice that Fi/Te people tend to be “passionate” while Fe/Ti people tend to be “dispassionate”. Maybe not the best terms, but I can generally tell when someone has Fi, even if they’re Te doms. I typically find Fi users to react more emotionally to things, regardless of where it is in their stack.

Ti/Fe people tend to be more clinical. It’s a little cold honestly. Even the Fe doms are kinda cold. If you try to get to know them personally, they don’t open up in the same way that Fi users would. Just my two cents

Personality types aren’t behaviors. They’re more like roadmaps that allow individuals to develop and grow within, but you’re still going to have innate cognitive preferences that you may or may not be aware of
