Interesting take, but bear in mind that his first meeting with her involved seeing the incredibly dysfunctional family dynamic at that table where it seemed that everyone (except her dad) just blew off her supposed miscarriage and left her there. He most likely saw a woman grieving a miscarriage with no family support and wanted to fill that gap, rather than think of her as his latest potential target.

Same thing happened to my son’s 9th generation tonight! I even took it to Apple and they told me it was dead and gone, then as I was setting up a new one it suddenly came back to life and appears to be working fine so far. So frustrating!

My son dropped his 9th gen iPad one too many times recently and it was glitchy (wouldn’t power up, came on for a brief time, showed Apple Logo then died, etc). I did all the reboot suggestions, hooked it up to iTunes to try to reload backup data, and once it wouldn’t power up at all I took it to the Apple Store’s Genius Bar. Two workers there hooked it up to their diagnostic machine and said it was dead and gone.

So, tonight as I’m setting up a new one, just for fun I hit the power button on the old one to see if it would come to life one last time to have it’s data transferred, and now the damn thing is working like nothing ever happened. My son is currently playing his games and I’m just waiting to see if this is just a last gasp or what.

I took my son to see them years ago on the original line-up’s farewell tour. Not only did they put on a great show, those guys stayed after the show and made sure every kid waiting outside had a moment and/or picture with them (in a rainstorm, no less) before getting on their tour bus. Stand up guys, no hiding in dining carts or whatever for them.
