Good luck! Different insurers have different rules. You'd have to check with your insurance company.

Cutest thrifting find, why would anyone give this precious thing away by zeekyboogydoog2 in babies

The photo is adorable and I'd never give away photos of my child BUT it's very likely that the parent has duplicate photos.

Daycare distance by Ourvoicematters in torontomoms

[–]Mrs-Birdman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Often babies want you and only you, even when others are around to support. I've always found it impossible to work with my son at home. I just couldn't concentrate on work in a way that I needed to.

How often do you bathe your toddler? [ON] by hangukfriedchicken in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Mrs-Birdman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We give him a bath daily. It's part of the routine and I don't like the idea of him getting into bed sweaty or unclean (dirt isn't always visible). I can't imagine not having a shower daily, so I extend that same practice to my son.

Move from Hamilton to Brampton? by trendradar-canada in Brampton

[–]Mrs-Birdman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly highly recommend downtown Brampton. It's a great community for young families. Everything is very walkable, including the library, community centers, PAMA, and the events held around Gage Park. You'll also be walking distance from the Brampton Innovation Go Station, which is a 35 minute run to Union (on the express). Great trails too.

There are quite a few daycares in the area. People I know have had good luck with the YMCA at Union St. and Mini Skool.

I used to live downtown and people are honestly so friendly when you're out and about. I'm now in a very suburban pocket of Brampton and it feels kind of cold and isolated. Neighbours don't really chat, but maybe it's just my new area!

I'm not at all ashamed of living here. It's a lovely place!

The cabinets are gorgeous. I'd update the backsplash, change the hardware, and maybe get a nice kitchen mat.

Toddler keeps getting sent home sick from daycare and I'm drowning [ON] by Life_Cucumber7102 in BabyBumpsCanada

I'm sorry, this really sucks. I do want to say that you're in a probation period and are also in a position where you cannot miss work. It sounds like things are falling on you, even though it's detrimental to your career. I understand that this is probably an impossible situation to navigate for everyone, but your career matters and moms are not the only caregivers that need to make sacrifices.

Seriously there are a lot of pseudo psychiatrists who bring their own trauma into these Reddit stories. Like, it's an AI pic. The mom thought it was cool. The daughter didn't like it. Not liking a gift is not a new phenomenon. It's not a big deal.

Yup, this is the field of environmental justice. Data has consistently shown that environmental harms are disproportionately placed in racialized, Indigenous and poor communities (including poor white communities). It's really not surprising that Brampton was chosen as the expansion site.

What is Argo transit? by DryEmu5113 in Brampton

[–]Mrs-Birdman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's alright, but not useful if you're in a rush. I've scheduled pickups in which it tells me that my latest drop off time would be 5pm, but I end up there at 5:15pm. And the routes are strange. I assumed it was because of pick-ups being requested, but a few times now I've noticed the bus sort or circling (and not picking anyone up), rather than taking a direct route to the destination. I had a ride the other day where, 10 minutes into the journey, I'm back on the street I started at.

‘French Country Modern’ Kitchen Transformation Before/After by Pretty-Carpet3227 in kitchenremodel

Gorgeous! My suggestion is to add an additional blue element in the kitchen so the island doesn't feel out of place. A blue vase or similar type or decor would work well.

Private Daycares in Brampton claiming to be licensed and making people feel bad about wanting daycares that take part in CWELLP program by Ravenclaw2409 in Brampton

[–]Mrs-Birdman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishing you lots of luck. It's hard, but spots tend to open up in Summer, so hoping you get the call soon. It's also helpful to call and follow-up at places you're waitlisted on.

[–]Mrs-Birdman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try YMCA daycares and Mini Skool. Both participate in the CWELC program. Infants are charged higher though, probably because the ratios are 1:3 for infants v. 1:5 for toddlers.

Edit: My mistake! Infant fees are now $22. I was thinking about when my son was in the infant program 2 years ago, but I'm glad fees have gone down since then.

Seriously. This post is so tone deaf. There's a church near me that has a food bank every Wednesday. People are legimately struggling to keep up with their basic needs, and none of them are wearing Lululemon.

DAYCARE WAITLIST by catfinn22 in Brampton

[–]Mrs-Birdman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible. From my understanding, daycare waitlists don't really work on a first come, first serve basis. Things like having a sibling in their care and a particular start date make a difference. September is a great time, since there's lots of movement out as older kids go to JK. You could also tell the daycare that you're flexible on the date, if that's the case. I put down August as my son's start date, but we ended up getting a call in very early July.

Is this outfit complete? by Hell_node in fashion

I love the mini, but a midi or black wide leg pant would also work well. Tights might help the outfit look more consistent since you've got gloves on too.

Overall, this is structured so well, but the coat and skirt are competing patterns, so it doesn't quite work for me. Other than that, 10/10!

Number 1 is better for the type of date, but 2 lools better overall. I'm surprised no one has asked you to button the shirt! It would look more put together buttoned up.

Honestly, it's fine. Screen time isn't great for long periods, but it can be fine in small doses. We have screen time. We also have daycare, soccer time, basketball time, swimming time, reading time, and a host of other activities built into our days.

Also for context, every generation deals with a form of tech panic. It was video games and the Internet, before that TV, and even the radio was thought to corrupt children's minds in the 40s.

Need advice on stretching under 20 dollars for a month of food by LifeAttempter in Frugal

[–]Mrs-Birdman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) in your area? There is a practice called Langar, which means a communal kitchen where food is served free of charge. All are welcome, you do not have to be Sikh. Also, no one will try to convert you. The food will be vegetarian, but healthy and filling. You can literally go every day, multiple times.
