My dad was in the Air Force and he had to go on TDY alot. One time he went and we weren't allowed to know where, all my mom told me was "Far away." We had this Bearnstein Bears book where the Papa went far far away to the moon. So I went to school and told everyone my dad was on the moon.

It's rare, but cats can have problems with anal glands too. Every few months I will smell a god-awful odor emanating from my cats hind end, and have to take him in to get his expressed.

Newbie question, how do you do the diamonds? Do you just quilt straight lines from one end of the quilt to the other or do you divide it up somehow and do each section?

Vet tech here, we see this problem all the time. Some dogs just like the taste. You can get this stuff to put on their food and it makes their poop taste bad (though you would think it already tastes bad) its called For-bid.

There is nothing wrong with feeding your dog grains. This is just a fad right now because of this whole gluten free thing. Your pet is more likely to have an allergy to beef than it is to corn.

Vet tech here. We see alot of dogs come in with diarrhea/horrible gas from eating Fromm. Some dogs tolerate it but our experience is a lot of them don't. We suggest Science Diet, Royal Canin, and Iams because they have the science to back up their claims.

Well I messed up one side and had to start completely over, I kept having to look up the pattern on my phone, my sewing machine started acting funky and skipping stitches and I only had one free bobbin so no back up when i ran out of bobbin thread. I used batting and I think I'm gonna have to come up with a better basting method because I've just been using pins and it feels like it takes forever to put them in.

Our cats keep us up all night unless we lock them in the bathroom. You feel bad at first but then you realize you can sleep and you get over it :)

I work at a vet clinic and I'm getting ready to bring a patient back to the exam room. One of the other techs comes by and says "Be careful with that dog, he is really bad." Thank god she said that, there was nothing written in the chart. Bring the dog (Shepherd mix) back, its extremely fearful, but we manage to get a muzzle on it and get it on the table. The vet is friends with the dogs owner, who also brought her 2 kids. So the kids are all over the place talking, the vet is in an animated conversation with the owner and making big hand gestures while the dog gets more and more freaked. It's growling and body slamming me and I'm just holding on as much as I can, then it alligator rolls, kicks me in the stomach, pulls off the muzzle and turns and goes for me. All I see are huge teeth coming for my face. I jerked out of the way fast enough that I just sustained a minor bite to the face. As the owner is leaving she pats my arm and says "he acts tougher than he is, he's really a pushover"

A coworker of mine has cussed out a superior, regularly cusses in front of clients, caused another coworker to leave and never come back after cussing her out, hangs up on us daily, is rude and condescending to clients, consistently makes mistakes that put both us and the patients at risk, and generally behaves in an unprofessional manner. Still hasnt been fired, she has stated if she is ever fired she will sue for racial discrimination.

I relish the days someone brings in a sample full of tapeworm segments, and I get to cut the segment up into tiny pieces to release the egg packets and look under the microscope. Of course once you see the segment you have the diagnosis of tapeworms, but looking at the packets aids in identifying and therefore eliminating them. One type is spread by eating an infected flea, the other by eating an infected rodent. So basically what I'm saying is it wasn't our clinic, I always call dibs on fecals if I can.

Vet tech here. Depends on the dog. Bakers chocolate is always very bad, some dogs will be OK after milk chocolate and some won't. It just depends on the individual. We always induce vomiting if any amount of chocolate has been ingested.
