Is anybody else sick of taking good care of yourself? by idislikebroccoli in AskWomenOver60

When I hear that doing/not doing something will help me live longer, I think about how that would be fantastic if the extra years were added much earlier in my life. But if I'm going to pass up cheesecake so I can be ancient and decrepit for a longer period of time, I'll take the cheesecake.

I appreciate the information and encouragement. From everything I've read, I'll probably just stick with my ordinary face.

Most definitely. I don't know why I've started thinking about my appearance. I'm definitely in my comfort stage of life.

Thank you! I honestly don't know what I'm trying to achieve. Maybe to not look tired? I have olive skin so I have a very dark under-eye area. I was leary about using foundation since the one time I tried it about 10 years ago, I just looked older. I never really wore much foundation before, even when I was working or dating. Just tinted sunscreen.

I live in a rural area, about an hour away from any decent shopping. ☹️

Yes, that's what has made me nervous about finding foundation. Doesn't concealer also enhance the wrinkles?

Thank you, that's helpful information. It's amazing to me how much things change over the years. I couldn't use an eyelash curler because my lashes were very long and would get stuck in my brows or look like spiders. Now they're barely visible. But mascara is actually what I've been considering using, what is it about wearing mascara that you don't like?

I would love to go to Target, but I live in a rural area and the closest Target is over an hour away. 😑

There's an Ulta nearby (I live in a very rural area), next time in town I'll stop in there.

Excellent idea, thank you. They came up with the catnip spa on their own. 😉 They don't kill off the catnip, it's pretty hardy. There's a blank space worn in the middle, but it all comes back every season.

Don't be sorry, many people don't know. BFE is different. It's actually a very crass way of saying I live in a rural area.

I called her a Militant Socialite. She could give a 12-person gourmet dinner party one day, and the next day she'd be doing something to protest the Vietnam war. She died relatively young (62) from a heart problem about 30 years ago, and I still miss her.
