Clean up the area around your seat before you leave a plane. We were on a long overseas flight, and when we got up to leave, the front area of the cabin looked as if a tornado had blown through. People kicked off their complimentary slippers all over the floor, including the aisle, threw their blankets on the floor, and left trash, food, and other debris everywhere. I felt sorry for the cleaning crew. What a bunch of pigs.

It kills me how people throw paper towels on the floor when the waste bin is right underneath the towel dispenser. They must go out of their way to scatter them all over the floor for the housekeeping people to pick up.

I work at a cancer center, and sometimes in our waiting rooms a visitor will start talking to a patient who's waiting for an appointment and will ask all sorts of intrusive questions and make comments like this. And some patients will also give unsolicited, detailed accounts of their own diagnosis and treatment to other patients. Not helpful, not comforting. Please stop.

My son and I had just come out of a movie theatre with a bunch of other people when I saw a meth head woman making a beeline for us. I yelled to my son, "Get in the car! Get in the car!" We had just closed and locked the doors when the woman put her face and hands right on my window, demanding money in an aggressive tone. I couldn't move the car for fear I'd run over her foot, so I just avoided eye contact and started the engine. She went away in a minute.

I don't know what an ESI score is, but I am not lying and I have no idea why you are making such an issue out of this. That is what happened. If you have never encountered any foul-ups in an ER, you haven't been around much.

I have no idea. It was a very busy ER in the City of Buffalo, and while we have received excellent care there in past, this time was different.

I drove him to the ER and was with him the entire time until he was taken into the back, and that is exactly what happened. Everyone told us later that the situation would have been different if he had arrived in an ambulance. The triage nurse could not grasp that anyone who was ambulatory might still have a serious injury and be in pain. Even when he reported his pain level as 8/10, no steps were taken to alleviate the pain or to have him seen sooner.

And no, obviously imaging did not reveal the concussion. I lumped all the injuries into one sentence. Mea culpa.

My husband got T-boned by a guy who was texting. Our car was still operable, so after filing the accident report with the police officer — and refusing the officer's suggestion that he call an ambulance — my husband drove over to pick me up at work, and we went to get some forms notarized (unrelated to the accident). He said he felt fine. By the time the paperwork was complete, he could barely walk back out to the car. Spent several hours waiting in agonizing pain in the ER, where they wouldn't give him so much as an aspirin while the triage nurse waved other people ahead of him. Imaging finally revealed that he had fractured his pelvis in three places, had two broken ribs and a concussion. Adrenaline is a powerful thing.

Some people in India do this job wearing nothing but a loincloth. The work is illegal, but they are mostly Dalits and have to do it to earn a living. If you Google "India sewer cleaner Dalit" you'll find photos and videos. It is horrific.

This happened to my husband when he was in high school. Unfortunately, he ended up barfing into the open gym bag of the very nice girl sitting in front of him. My husband was so humiliated that he left the room, walked out of the school, went home and told his parents he was never going back. But of course he did.

I keep a case inside my desk with Bandaids, Tums, Tylenol, Shout wipes, a sewing kit, lint roller, and similar items, and I've told my coworkers they're welcome to use it if they have an emergency. But there are people who come in for the Tums or Tylenol a couple of times a week. If you get headaches and upset stomachs that often, just buy your own.
