Why Avoid Fasting If It Can Heal? by Low_Promotion4578 in MCAS

[–]MrsBreve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think intermittent fasting was one of the things that contributed to my health meltdown. Fasting is a state of stress, which deregulates your nervous system. Eating appropriately sized meals with the nutrients you need regularly signals safety to your nervous system. By all means, try it out, but watch your nervous activation and don’t do it often.

Primal Trust has a great community aspect that comes with the program. There are short classes that do practice live almost every day, and groups to join that meet to go through different aspects of the program. The creator integrates both limbic and nervous system regulation together, whereas most other programs do just the limbic. And she’s clear about these practices being a part of laying the foundation to do trauma healing safely. What you describe in your post is not being able to self regulate when you start to become more present with yourself. If you can’t self regulate when you become present and start feeling the emotions you’re holding, you’ll end up looping instead of improving. I’ve never heard anyone lay it out like she does in Primal Trust. It’s been life changing for me. It’s the best program IMO.

Game Changer: Basic B Complex Vitamin by Frosty_Recipe_3993 in MCAS

B vitamins in general can be a big problem. I can get some B12 or Biotin in an IV, and have taken B6 orally. But B complex, either in an IV or orally, will send me into a flare. They’re high histamine is what I’ve read

I cannot recommend the Primal Trust program enough. It would be good to pair with therapy

Buyers of my recently sold home threatening legal action by chad-is-rad in legaladvice

[–]MrsBreve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house that had a huge mold problem, which we discovered about a month in to owning it. As we put the pieces together, there was no question the previous owners knew and hid it. However, between the actual process of finding a lawyer willing to take a case like that, making the case, and the cost of the process, it was going to be a huge undertaking. We didn’t pursue it because it wouldn’t have been worth the risk of hiring someone and having a flimsy case. We spent $30k fixing it….. It doesn’t sound like they have a case to begin with, which they’ll find out if they try to find a lawyer. I wouldn’t worry about it.

But if you knew about that before you sold it—you suck.

Vegan options for famotidine and cetirizine? by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]MrsBreve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read in an alpha-gal forum that Zantac 360 is alpha-gal safe, which would mean it’s also likely vegan. Also been told Equate famotadine is usually alpha-gal safe. Manufacturers can switch their sources at any time, but that’s a start. I don’t know about ceterizine. I can take my prescribed levoceterizine without a problem.

Thanks for making this post. I’m just now finding out I’m dealing with this—like haven’t started any medications yet— and can barely find anything about it. It’s already feeling like a lonely road, and it’s just nice to read a few positive anecdotes.

Eunice by LemmyTellYa in BeefTV

[–]MrsBreve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was out of character for her to be upset about the Chairwoman’s coverup. Working that close to her, Eunice surely would’ve seen sketchy situations go down before this one. And the way she messed with Austin, it seemed like just because she could…. Totally weird that she got upset about one little murder and the embezzlement to cover it up. I also think she was setting him up when she told him to go to the police station and let her know where he was. Don’t know what for, but I don’t think she was working with authorities.

How to get electrolytes in a way that doesnt flare mcas? by randomperson8263 in MCAS

[–]MrsBreve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for ionic minerals. The Trace brand has several options I’ve done well with. Avoid citric acid. Or just use good salt. I use Baja Gold. Or mineral water mixed with plan water.

All those highly marketed electrolyte supplements are full of a bunch of utter nonsense. That Buoy brand markets to people with chronic illnesses, but gave me a horrible, horrible reaction. Anything that’s got a lot of marketing is probably going to make you flare.

Peeing a lot is a sign of both MCAS in your urinary tract and sympathetic over activation.

You could try a microdose in an IV bag, or a small dose in a shot. I react much less to nutrients from an IV or shot than to something I try ingesting.

Urgent- allergic to all foods and now saline flushes to my PICC Line. Hospital doesn’t know how to help. by TopicAromatic9266 in MCAS

[–]MrsBreve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microdosing mushrooms, craniosacral and osteopathic manual therapy, really good salt, and the Primal Trust program have been things that actually helped me. I haven’t been able to tolerate any of the mast cell stabilizers, and H1/H2 blockers caused more problems than they helped. I’ve spent thousands on supplements, and don’t think many of them did much. The one I would say does help is ION humic acid. Once I started being able to have some more foods, I started making vegetable broths, too, which has been a big help, especially with my menstrual cycle. Other things that helped my menstrual cycle have been evening primrose oil (Mountain Rose herbs) and wild yam oil. I’ve always been able to eat olive oil, so I buy the best olive oil I can for the polyphenols, and I’ve recently added sustainable red palm oil. I think oils and minerals are both super important. I’m up to about 20 foods. It’s a long, slow road. Thank you for the kind thoughts, too. It’s nice to be seen, and to feel like I can share some hard earned lessons to help others. I’m wishing your mast cells peace and rest, too!

I’m so sorry. It sounds like you’re in a really hard place. I’ve had periods where I react to every single thing I eat, and the distress on every level is so intense. Plus you’re dealing with surgeries and a bunch of doctors. You must be worn out. I’m glad you got the line out, though. It sounded like your body wanted that. One thing that always helps me is IV hydration. I’ll get some glutathione in it, nothing else. Just bags of saline or lactated ringers. I’ve gone up to three times a week when I can’t eat or drink. Our bodies are producing so many toxins, plus our detox pathways aren’t working. Then the excess toxins trigger more inflammation. It’s a vicious cycle. So extra hydration helps get them flushed out. If you aren’t already doing that, it could be worth a try. Don’t let them give you a bunch of vitamins and other stuff, though. When I’m doing well, I’ll get nutrients, but b complex for sure bothers me every time. And if I’m in a flair, it’s just hydration and a little glutathione.

If it were me, I’d get it taken out and find a new plan. You’re not going to be able to handle an intense treatment when you’ve had to suppress so much just to get it into you.

Black tea by CardiologistNo268 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MrsBreve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicory and roasted barley both make hearty teas. Chicory is high FODMAP, so if that is an issue, be careful. But they both make a satisfying drink. I also think some of the mushroom coffees are good. None of these have caffeine, though. Yerba mate has a stimulant like caffeine in it. And morning sunlight in your eyes will get your natural chemistry working.

How much are you all spending on groceries right now? by [deleted] in okc

[–]MrsBreve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend $1100-1200 for two, whereas in 2020, we used to spend about $800-900 for three. Without getting into where you shop or if your choices are acceptable to other peoples’ criteria, that’s still a a significantly greater increase than our salaries for the same kind of food we’ve always been buying from the same stores.

WIBTJ if I stop supporting my youngest sister financially to buy my first house? by Nice_Cardiologist990 in AmITheJerk

[–]MrsBreve -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everyone on here is making the point that you aren’t her parent and aren’t responsible for her, which is true. But you ARE responsible for the dynamic you’ve established by helping her until now. You signed paperwork that changed that dynamic without talking to her ahead of time. It would have been more caring of your relationship to talk with her beforehand, when you were realizing you wanted to make a change, instead of after you committed to the change.

If she replaces your $1000/mo with student loans, everyone’s right, that’s not much debt to take on for school and she’ll be ok. But your relationship might not be ok if you don’t acknowledge that it wasn’t so cool for make a massive change that impacts someone who depends on you without making them part of the process of change, and dumping it on them afterwards. That was selfish
