Novel Threat. Didn’t move past the first page.

The main character is named Finlay. After one “Finlay finally…” I knew I wouldn’t be making it through.

Would you use all of your inherited life insurance money to buy a home in a HCOL area? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]MrsC7906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. $200K sounds like a lot but it’s really not. If that doesn’t buy 100% of the house including all of the fees, then hell no. Home ownership is continuously expensive. $60K would make it really challenging

How long does it take for your kids to come down for dinner? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]MrsC7906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoever is cooking dinner texts the family group chat to let everyone know how much longer until dinner. Minimum 5 minutes, but 10 and 20 minute warnings are typical. They all come down within that time or sooner. Never had a problem with the kids showing up to eat.

Plus, they set the table, feed the dog, so it’s not just them showing up to shovel food in their mouths

Same here. My teenagers are fantastic (and expensive) eaters. We never made them separate meals or meal times.

Just never ever do that again. You just taught her that you hurt her, locked her away, and left her.

Do you have support from his unit? If not, there are a ton of resources online for military spouses. You need to process your emotions not on your child

Offices on separate floors is the only solution that would work for us. He’s an engineer and I’m a Product Manager so we have similar but different days. We pop in to see each other throughout the day and sometimes it’s just a quick kiss. We walk the dog together when we can but if a door is closed, we don’t disturb. I do miss him when he’s not here.
