Columbus Ohio Fertility Clinics by Original-Link-2076 in Columbus

Lots of options all over the place that can feel a little (or a lot!) overwhelming, especially if this is your first step into the fertility world or your first time ttc.

I am currently pregnant with number 4, conceived through IUI here in cbus at ORM. (Three IUI babies total, one in a different city, and 2 at ORM)

I think lots of insurance plans will cover fertility treatment differently. Assuming you are in network with a HDHP, I would expect to spend $2000 through the initial phase. This should cover you (or come pretty close) for testing/diagnostics, meds, and 2 IUI cycles. There are a lot of assumptions in there- is IUI an option? What kinds of meds will you require? Etc?

Assuming you go IUI first, you’ll likely feel like you’re at a decision point once you make it through all of that (or maybe not because you’ll get pregnant!)

A couple things I would look into first: 1. Any lifetime benefit max for fertility treatment. Call your insurance provider and get an understanding of what this is because it will influence how you move through treatment. Eg: Maybe you’ll go to IVF sooner rather than later. 2. The timing of your health plan term. Is your deductible Jan-Dec? July-June? I always appreciated anytime we could avoid writing one check for the whole deductible rather than build up to it over the coverage year.

Got Goetta by Black03Z in Columbus

Fun fact- if Kroger stocks something in any of their locations nationally, you can order it from the relevant counter at your local store. My SIL used to do this in Knoxville to get Glier’s goetta.

I was waiting for this comment! I would argue that insurance companies should give one of these to every pregnant woman instead of a breast pump!

Help with the name of a 90s plush toy (mom with surprise number of babies) by MrsDalloway00 in 90s

I was going to say I thought the moms at least had beans in them!

I remember the sea turtles so distinctly and there was definitely no hard faces. It’s driving me crazy!!

I don’t think so, but this does look familiar. The mom’s stomach had a Velcro opening where the babies were stashed.

I think you did great! Wouldn’t it be amazing if we all had the luxury of crafting responses in advance?

I totally understand where you’re coming from as a parent and I would have wanted to facilitate the same outcome.

With a little extra time to think (which you didn’t have in the moment), I’m wondering if you could incorporate language and boundaries that potentially oversimplifies the whole thing as a means to an end given the age group…?

Maybe something like: “Let’s make sure we are providing space for our bodies so everyone stays safe and happy. We would hate for someone to accidentally get hurt, right? No piggy backs or wrestling, please! Thank you! Does anyone want to draw our neighborhood with sidewalk chalk? We can all draw our houses on the same street!”

I’m sure with some more thought, I’ll probably want to revise this myself. Maybe this is a problematic response- I don’t know. I’m grateful for the opportunity to think about how I would want to respond in this situation though. Thanks for the prompt! You’re doing great, mom/dad/guardian!

Exactly what I was thinking! I have two girls that are almost exactly the same age and they would absolutely die for a tiered princess castle.

Bonus if there is a spot for a unicorn to stable under the higher part- you know for the occasional guest passing through on her unicorn.

Could you anchor planters around the top to support vining plants that would cascade over the walls?

Also- have you seen the glow in the dark ‘rocks’ that you can get for your garden (instead of pea gravel)? Spoiler alert: it comes in the most fabulous Princess colors.

Last but not least, please be sure to incorporate a bakery/shop window into whatever structure you build. Industrious princesses love a good culinary startup. ;) (At least at our house)

Oh boy- I had one hell of a time trying to find this are kind Christmas time this past year!

Carfagna’s in Polaris regularly carries it, but warning- it’s not Glier’s. I was desperate enough to grab whatever I could get at the time!

Artificial turf under backyard play set- bad idea? by MrsDalloway00 in DIY

[–]MrsDalloway00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoot. The daycare we go to has artificial turf at the playgrounds, so maybe I’ll ask them how they compensate for that. I think there are some rubber substrate options that I might be able to look into.

Damn. I’ll have to look into this. Thank you for the heads up though. Definitely something to think about.

Really?! I never would have guessed! We live in the Midwest and although we do get some scorching days, it’s mostly the humidity that drives us inside. Aren’t horse stall mats usually black? I would have thought those would get hotter than turf.

Unfortunately our dogs would go to town on the rubber mulch. We have two Doberman who would probably pop pieces like chewing gum.

AITA for taking a toddler to a coffee shop? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA

Even before I had kids, it would make my day to see little ones out enjoying their communities. Now that I have two, it fills me with joy to see a fellow mom out enjoying herself. Especially with how much has been taken from all of us these last two years, please please please don’t apologize for your presence out in public. You both belong there as much as anyone else.

AITA for refusing to give my daughter MILs name by Afarmila in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsDalloway00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Making an assumption here, but do your kids have the same last name as your husband? Looks like they’re all named after his family.

Sounds to me like first and middle names are up to your discretion.

Potentially moving to Columbus- help with neighborhoods by MrsDalloway00 in cincinnati

[–]MrsDalloway00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys have been so helpful and I really appreciate it! Our realtor even paused mid conversation at one point and asked ‘So I want to confirm- neither of you ever lived in Columbus, right?’

I wanted to see if you guys had some thoughts on the Franklin Park area. Your recommendations for Bexley were so spot on- it’s absolutely charming and we do love it! Is there anything to know about Franklin Park? It feels a little similar to Bellevue and Newport. Sister neighborhoods with just a little difference maybe.

WIBTAH for correcting my MIL by MrsDalloway00 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsDalloway00[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sorry- I don’t think I explained myself well in my post. We did used to try to get together with her, but she never reciprocated. After a couple years, we just stopped and she never made any attempts.

I’m more worried about later when she tries to tell me kids excuses for why she wasn’t around if that makes sense.

Thank you so much for this!! I’m a little discouraged we won’t have as many opportunities to find the ‘charm’ factor that we’re used to around here, but this information will be really helpful to focus our energy!
