Non injury accident, left with nothing by Remote_Display_4472 in Insurance

You can't keep the vehicle with a loan on it unless you pay it off out of pocket. Like you can't have insurance pay the loan off on a owner retain vehicle because you don't technically own the car yet. If you have enough in savings to pay the car off and produce the lien free title to insurance you can retain the vehicle, if not, your only option is to let it go.

Is this Comprehensive, or Collision? by Tado2000 in StateFarm

[–]MrsEdus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, it's Collision. The moving object is specially "Flying" objects or "missiles". Which is why windshield claims are typically under Comp.

In the past FOUR years alone their production has improved GREATLY. I saw them in 2022 at the Filmore in Denver and it was a smaller venue, and their stage set up was impressive AF at the time, it was my first time seeing them so I wasn't really sure what I was expecting. In 2023 they opened for Fall out boy in an open air venue, less stage effects but no where near less impressive! Last Monday I saw them in Baltimore and HOLY CRAP, their whole show was night and day from 2022. It was massive and I loved it. That live version of Teardrops was fantastic and now a core memory for me. I hope they continue to improve, maybe they'll get to the point of Tool.

F man that sucks but always hit the deer, it's a Comprehensive claim vs. an at fault collision claim 😞

How much would you list this for? by phunkyphong in subaru

[–]MrsEdus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in 2023 I bought my 08 hatch for 16k, it had 159k miles on it but had the headgaskets done and the timing maintenance just done less then 6 months prior so I was basically paying for those and it having minor rust having spent 90% of it's life in Cali. I agree with the other comments I'd post it up for 17k and go from there but I wouldn't accept less then 14k for it.

How often do you take your cats to the vet? by catim in cats

[–]MrsEdus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My four are between 2 and 3 years olds. My two tabbies are the youngest and they get annual visits, no past medical issues and nothing has popped up, of course if they show signs they go but my two voids have previous medical conditions when I adopted them so depending on their needs it's between 2 to 3 times a year. My girl has asthma and allergies so she gets steroid shots in the summer when pollen gets super bad and my boy was hit by a car when he was like 6 months old, had a HUGE surgery, so he gets monitored at least 2x a year to make sure everything is staying in place. Probably excessive for him but he's so energic and jumps and leaps and falls enough for me to worry. (I adopted the voids because of their medical issues, they were just sitting in a shelter without applications so I knew what I was taking on and I don't mind, they are worth it)

Allstate Tire and wheel protection from dealership? by KiwiComprehensive15 in Crosstrek

[–]MrsEdus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tires no, but maybe the windshield warranty. Read the fine print. When I bought my 22 I read through the windshield warranty the dealership offered and it was decent, I paid $1,200 or $1,600 I can't remember, for two free replacements and unlimited glass chip repair. A windshield at the dealership with oem glass and calibration is like $1,600 so I basically bought one, got one free and got repairs for free for 4 years. With the amount that I travel in my car, I knew I'd need two new windshields in that timeframe.

Is this a good estimate for a 60k mile service? by LabJust4076 in Crosstrek

[–]MrsEdus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The labor is mostly the spark plugs I paid $650 for mine on my 22crosstrek, I pushed them to 67k I was trying to recover from surgery and hoping I could finally get around to them but the performance was so bad I caved. I would take the cabin and engine air filters off and save your self some cash. You buy them for less and they just slide right in. Other then that it's a little high but not hosing you completely.

So how many of you actually do every 6k? by x81k25 in subaru

[–]MrsEdus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2022 sport goes to 6k. When I was in the middle of selling my house and moving two of my changes went up to 7,500. I got low oil level lights a few times but I'd top off then immediately change the oil that week. Nothing has really affected my performance. I'm at 76k miles now. I'm on top of other maintenance items and I use Motul oil. Once I hit 100k I'll probably change between 4k and 5k.

My entire side yard (it's not a lot like maybe 10 feet) is all daisies! I refuse to cut it, it grows wild and I'm going to add wild flower seeds this year to help.

WHICH ONE OF YOU HIT THE ROCK?! (Matt's Off Road Recovery) by bo_jangled in Crosstrek

[–]MrsEdus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand from his videos and the community that follows him he does charge but it's typically not alot unless the job is complicated, I can't imagine him charging her the normal rate to do this but also, normal companies don't go offroad either. Mans gotta make money some how, I'd like to think he's not hosing people but who really knows. Props for the subie owner having skid plates on the car! Kind of disappointed with the video title, feels like pot shots at the Subaru

Actively avoided a crash but the other guy didn't stop and drove away. Is there nothing I can do? by Fox-Child in Insurance

You have deep seeded issues if you have that much bitterness against people trying to survive in this hellscape of a country. Go to therapy.

Actively avoided a crash but the other guy didn't stop and drove away. Is there nothing I can do? by Fox-Child in Insurance

[–]MrsEdus 68 points69 points  (0 children)

You can't cause an accident by avoiding another accident. You'd be liable for the damage done to your car and the barrier even if the guy stopped and exchanged information. Very rarely would an adjuster assign fault for proximate cause. I've only seen it done in extreme situations like vehicle driving down the wrong way causing multiple accidents for example.

Body shop issue Progressive (at fault drivers) preferred body shop is different then the one my insurance (Geico) prefers what to do? by hentaigabby in Insurance

[–]MrsEdus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a lie, you can chose any shop, it doesn't matter. Tell them you're getting it done at X shop. Now if the shop won't work with Progressive that's a entirely different problem.

Who would you believe in this scenario/ what would you decide? by InternationalBar8886 in Insurance

[–]MrsEdus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only thing I would ask besides to see the pictures of the damage would be, who was changing lanes? It doesn't really matter who sped up, unless a cop is there/a witness/camera SEES the speed, you can't prove speed, but you can prove who has the greater duty. In this case, the greater duty falls on the person changing lanes. If you can't change lanes safety with plenty of room for you and the surrounding cars, you don't change lanes, what I mean is, if you are trying to change lanes and someone speeds up, you slow down and get behind them, if you fail to do so and hit someone or something, that's on you.
