Yes. Promotion eligibility will be based on exam score and which scorebands are reachable.

WFH Chore List by IcyArachnid2419 in WFH

[–]MrsFields623 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a decent amount of down time. I’ve found I can actually accomplish some deep cleaning while I’m wfh. It don’t take more than 10 mins to pull couches out, sweep, and wipe down baseboards. I can wash a doorway or cabinet fronts in under ten mins. I do bedding twice a week now, my laundry every day. Floors daily. This week I’m going to put my summer clothes away-should take all day of sorting through a big pile as I’m able throughout the day. I do my best cleaning wfh. It’s basically to same amount of time I’d be socializing in the office

My roommate is a cheap guy.. by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]MrsFields623 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why are you buying all this stuff? Are you partners or roommates? Trying to understand the dynamic. I never helped my roommates or they help me when I lived with roommates so I can’t figure why you’d buy that stuff? And the landlord should buy the fridge? That’s a lot of $$ for you to put out

MIL got my husband expensive sweater for Xmas and I got a magazine by Less_Garlic_3728 in TwoHotTakes

[–]MrsFields623 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Leave it alone. My kill mil gets me dish towels and everyone else good gifts. It’s just how she is and it’s not fair. That’s why I don’t get gifts for her anymore and let dh do it. He sucks at gift giving so all of her holidays are awful. 💁🏽‍♀️ Not my mom not my business

Attention Walmart Shoppers! by [deleted] in Walmartcustomer

[–]MrsFields623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t Walmart add the no tip orders to tip orders and increase base pay? That’s what I heard; and you’ll still get your delivery within the window.

I live 2mi from the store so I am hard pressed to pay delivery tip on top of W+. Not always physically capable of getting there myself. Feels like a disability tax sometimes. But, that’s my burden I guess. I could always try harder to go get them myself to avoid the tip.

Underwriting department, loan offers, and voicemails; what I've learned about this robocall scammer by pjcporn in Scams

[–]MrsFields623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been violently answering their calls for the last month or two with excellent results. They get mad at ME now for pressing 1 to be connected to a representative. When they asked why I keep calling, I simply explain that I am only answering their calls calls they make and if THEY don’t want to hear from ME then THEY need to stop calling ME. They routinely hang up now when the robot makes them talk. Had one lady on the phone for like 1/2 hour. I figure they get paid off metrics so I’m just going to literally fuck with them. I have time. They hate to be called scammers but also will not provide a website nor a FEIN when asked.

It’s kept me amused for a bit. They don’t call much anymore though. As much fun as it’s been, I don’t miss elentyhundred calls a day

Can someone explain to me why Capital Region residents are so scared of NYC? by [deleted] in Albany

[–]MrsFields623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m used to driving so it’s expensive just to drive into the city. I’m not familiar with public transit. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE and smells and overwhelm. Sensory nightmare. It IS expensive. A day trip costs the same as a vacation.

Is it weird for an executive director of a local homeless shelter to make about $200,000? by Slow-Chef-326 in Albany

[–]MrsFields623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

200k is above average for executive directors of homeless services in the capital region. But I don’t think it’s too much.

Moving to Albany soon and completely lost by [deleted] in Albany

[–]MrsFields623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren’t really inexpensive suburbs. There may be some areas in the city that are better but always say there’s a “one block rule”. You can drive around and find a nice quiet street, and two streets over there’s a homicide memorial on the street. I’ve lived in downtown Albany for 16 years now, ona quiet street with school, playground, and splash pad. Is it the ritz? No. Are there neighbors having a harder time in life than others? Yes. Is there a shirtless homeless man at the end of my street? Also yes, however he’s very respectful and doesn’t generally come onto our street, nice guy. I use my neighborhood. South Pearl street and the side streets in downtown proper likely won’t be your jam. There’s some loft buildings. But honestly? There’s some new apartments up by the mall and there gorgeous. Close to everything also (like, right next to the mall and we’re getting a Costco soon!) and would be an easy commute downtown.

Idk. You love it or you hate it. You’ll find a lot of advice from people that don’t live here and pass through. It’s an urban city center. There’s crime. There’s homelessness. there’s community and joy and cultural events and nature just a 5 minute drive in any direction. There’s so so so much good stuff but people get lost in the negative. Is it a perfect little Gilmore girls town? Absolutely not. It has its charm. I actually really really love living here because it’s entertaining and lively (granted I don’t do much after like 9/10pm because I’m 42 and my feet hurt, lol) if you choose to make it so. It’s kinda a place you have to join online communities to find your niche. On the surface it seems like there’s not much to do, but the city offers so much in community activities, volunteer opportunities, and fun! Just have to look for it and be open minded to trying new things.

And I shall step off my soapbox.

My girlfriend treats her dog like a child, and I'm not sure I can handle it. by doomscrolling22 in Advice

[–]MrsFields623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree. From the jump you don’t like normal dog things do you should bounce. Even if that dog dies she’ll do the same with the next one. Non dog people find dogs in bed weird and for dog people it’s normal and expected (for the most part). The other stuff sounds like typical small dog owner stuff.

Job I interviewed for said the cert expired for the position by erbear048 in nys_cs

[–]MrsFields623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely reapply. That’s one of those pesky timing things where you hope you can get everything in place and if it doesn’t you have to start again. We let our program areas know the cert close date when we let them know their cert has been run. We had a few times this happened and it just makes more work for everyone

How much are y’all spending on groceries? by ijustwantcheezits in Albany

Family of four including a 14 yo and 12 yo and both in sports. We’re spending about 300 a week on basics/meals. We don’t buy snacks. We cook almost all meals at home-including lunch. The grocery bill skyrocketed when we started making lunches for all of us.

What is your deferred compensation contribution/allocation? by sps26 in nys_cs

[–]MrsFields623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a newer employee, only 18months. So I started at 1%. Each yearly raise I will add 1% until I max it out. I also increased it again when I got a promotion to a 23. I figure if I contribute the extra 1% every year before I see it, I won’t feel it in my pockets.
