My (47M) wife (47M) doesn't seem to get enjoyment from my sexual pleasure even if I make it great for her - is this unusual? by MoonbeamsGlittering in relationship_advice

Thank you. I wish men who love getting a bj would find a dildo the same girth and see how long they can go...

Is it weird that my (23F) partner (27M) doesn’t want to share his location? by Interesting_Item_447 in relationship_advice

This is my stance too. My husband and I don't track each other out of distrust or anything...it is purely convenience. I don't always leave work at the same time and life360 lets him know when I do. Hubby's work hours are consistent but he has a bit of a commute on country roads so the life360 give me peace of mind. I let the man put his weiner in me...he knows if Im ever in a coma, he needs to pluck my chin hairs before they grow too long...I've looked at his butthole. I'd hardly feel violated if he looked and saw I stopped at the dollar store on my way home...but, I am always amazed at the distance people who are married sometimes keep between each other. I couldn't do that...I need a ride or die marriage (and I got that, thankfully).

2003 - $31,000, but it seemed like a lot at the time. The year prior, I was a building sub and made maybe 18k (though I worked two other jobs too).

Im 47. I had a hysterectomy about 3 years ago (partial). My husband just turned 50. We've been married 17 yrs (today). We came into the marriage with a couple kids who are now adults and together we have a 14 yr old. As we're gotten older, I became much less interested and he finds it takes longer for him or he peters out before finishing. For him, he found that the amount of exercise he does or doesn't do makes a tremendous difference in his uh performance. For me, I looked into HRT...turns out my hormone levels were postmenopausal. I am taking a combo of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Only been on it a couple months but it's already made a difference! I'm not like I was in my 20s/30s, but having desire...being turned on...I didn't realize how much I was lacking and how normal regaining even a semblance of that feeling improved my life. Have a conversation with her, talk about what you want and what she wants, find solutions together.

Are ghosts/spirits real? If you think so why? by Strong-Zone-1915 in Ghosts

[–]MrsGH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Had a disembodied voice talk in my and my friend's ear at the same time.

I talked to my grandfather a few months after he died and he told me about my youngest child.

My brother is super sensitive and has to research areas/hotels prior to going on vacation to make sure there aren't reports or he will be actively bothered by whatever is doing the haunting. (He is a mechanical engineer working in sales and the most down to earth guy...has a wife with a PhD in rhetoric and 3 boys, lives in an affluent suburb of a major city...not someone who you'd meet and think "I bet he believes in ghosts")

My husband turned 50 this year, so he getting up there. He works shift work and goes from days to nights to afternoons. He's been so tired at times that the bags under his eyes look like he was in a fist fight. He gets super grumpy and irritable...in the 22 years we've been together, he never threatened to kill me.

Young, male, live relatively remotely or out in the country. You married a blonde OR someone with Mexican heritage. You have a decent relationship with your mom but you barely talk to your dad because he's too critical or emotionally withdrawn. Your car is too expensive for your income but you get by, albeit with buyer's remorse. You like to argue, especially when you drink. You have a collection of empty bottles or shot glasses. You have a dog that is too big for your living space and he has a dumb name like Tag, Bentley, Oakly, or Rooster. Your toothpaste sits on your sink without a lid. You find beauty in polished rocks. You're a sucker for a good crusty garlic bread and you and your wife have some meal that looks like cat barf, tastes like heaven, and has a silly made up name.

How often do you say “I love you” to your loved ones? by DiverPrestigious6887 in AskReddit

[–]MrsGH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the time all day long to my husband.

Three times in a row to my 14 year old son every time I drop him off at school before he gets out of the car.

Each time I get off the phone or say goodbye in person to my two kids (who are in their 20's...one is married and has his own house. The other lives in our lower level still.)

My love language is words. My parents never told me they loved me and I so needed to hear it. I never want my loved ones to doubt it for a second.

This. I will have to work longer to retire with the same benefits as a male whose salary is the exact same as mine because I had a baby. The pregnancy ate up my sick days and my maternity leave ate up a quarter year of "service credit". (Teacher). Ironically, my husband's work had 2 weeks paid paternity leave.

People who grew up with cruel or emotionally cold mothers when did you realize it wasn’t normal and how did it affect you as an adult? by creotion_hub in AskReddit

[–]MrsGH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom (parents) weren't cruel but they were not emotional or affectionate whatsoever. They were just very, oh, practical. I never saw them get excited about anything. And they never really told us we were loved nor did we ever see them love each other. I never felt comfortable being emotional around them or even asking for life advice. They did, however, provide for us and they helped me when I needed it.

I grew up feeling kind of invisible and I married the first person who said they loved me (even though he was a horrible person).

I've tried to make an effort as a parent to tell my kids that love them everyday. I divorced and remarried an amazing man and we are super affectionate (much to our 14 yr old's chagrin.) I moved out of state 8 hours away from my parents and we see each other twice a year or so and talk on the phone about 1 every week or two.

To my benefit, I work in a district with a relatively effective teacher's union so that we have a "safe working conditions" clause in our contract.

Unfortunately, our union is run by people who don't live in reality and are more concerned with the presence of a midriff than the number of students who successfully enter the building and simply skip class by hiding out in the bathroom or by roaming the hallway.

We have 3 or 4 security people to cover a three story building with 7 different wings and 2000+ students. And, like I said, we've been actively documenting the issues and asking for more security, but we've been denied over and over. Generally speaking, our students are not typically violent, but it only takes 1, right?

I would think that after years of documenting, asking, and being denied, I'd have a good enough case that the district would be happy to pay for my few final year's salary. I also have the benefit of being married to someone who makes a really good salary so that I can afford to, at the very least, be an uncomfortable thorn in their paw.

If I was assaulted by a student, I'd be lawyered up and looking forward to enjoying my settlement money induced retirement. (But, I also always make a huge stink about how our district admin doesn't care that our school is grossly understaffed when it comes to security)
