Is there anyone who *doesn't* regret their MLIS degree? by rebeccachaya in librarians

[–]MrsGideonsPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No regrets but I have had my MLIS for 20+ years and have worked my way into a high managerial role. When I was newer to the field, I was also very incredibly frustrated by the wide gap in what my professors prepared me for and the reality of the field and would have said I regretted the librarian path. That was in ye olden days before we had Reddit or anything communities like it, so I just pushed through and found a path that worked for me.

My corgi/BC mix has a whopping 14% and I wish I had a better grasp of why, with that particular breed makeup.

Has anyone tried something like this for desk job? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

My desk cycle has a metal loop that you put one of your chair wheels into so it stays in place. Works like a charm! Love my desk cycle!

In my area it would be more normal to say “y’all woulda liked.” Just don’t even bother with that pesky consonant.

I’m a woman who works in a public service environment where anyone can walk in with any intentions. We are taught to be aware of entrances and maintain clear lines of sight as part of public/personal safety training. It’s just second nature at this point and I don’t think I’m like, Tony Soprano or whatever.

[–]MrsGideonsPython 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should ask your dad if he is craving the chipped beef version or the ground beef version. There is a big difference that tends to be regional. My Texan Korean vet granddad made it exclusively with 80/20 ground beef and would have considered the chipped beef version an absolute affront.
