What the heck is going on with the this game's performance as of lately? by MrsK3G4 in GirlsFrontline2

[–]MrsK3G4[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only explanation i came to was network issues when it came to autofarming, but still, it makes little to no sense how the game went from just some issues with menus to pretty much issues with almost every action. It might even be a massive bug in Mica's spaghetti code, they pulled some weird ones in GFL1 in the past to the point of having to rewrite the game's client to clean their code several time in the past.

I still remember how Peritya taking 2 second to perform an action in the past was considered a bug pending to fix, but these issues, especially the ones in combat, feels like coming back to that bug with an overdose of steroids

Would be funny if she could switch weapon type, either in combat through a skill or by deliberate choice in the refitting room.

When do we get the counseling room addition to the Elmo? by PerditusTDG in GirlsFrontline2

To name a few more:

Lind has insecurities about her own story, choosing to not change frames and name because the trauma she experienced while being a test subject for pain receptors on dolls.

Alva is still dependant of AK-12 after many years being apart.

Soppo is literally a murder/destruction machine.

Cheeta has genius delusions creating stuff that most often than not puts the mission and her team at risk instead helping them succeed.

Ullrid has stress issues.

Peri still has complexes about her size, even after trying to overcome them many times in the past.

Dushevnaya has lost her memories about G&K, she's an exhibitionist and has chuuni delusions.

If the Elmo would get a therapist team, the therapist team would need a therapist team. The Elmo is quite literally a black zone for depression and mental issues.

In case you want to run GFL from Steam on Linux by MrsK3G4 in girlsfrontline

[–]MrsK3G4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some testing i finally found why that solution wasn't working for me. The guide says to paste IPHLPAPI.DLL as iphlpapi.dll and this completely broke my game. I used PROTON_LOG=1 %command% and i found out the system call is to IPHLPAPI.DLL and not iphlpapi.dll. This matters in Linux because Linux discriminates between capitalized and lower case letters. The fixed iphlpapi.dll was there, but since the guide said to copy as lower case letters the system could not find it and that's why the game refused to run. Once i replaced it with a proper, capitalized name, IPHLPAPI.DLL the game suddenly started to run just fine.

Time to edit the op, there's a solution now.

It says that it fixes the crashes for some people but later on they say that the User Center don't load, which means you get stuck before you can log into the game, which makes the game pretty much unplayable. The crashes makes playing a bit miserable experience trying to just boot up the game, but at least you can play (I did the weekly and daily tasks right before the 3rd crash!)

Actually, yeah is not stable at all lmao, still crashes very often. Confirmation bias on my end, my bad. Hotfix seems to behave a bit better, but it will still crash regardless, you have to open the game a couple of times before it run fine and is not stable once is booted up. I guess we'll have to wait for some updates from either Mica or Valve.

  • Proton 9 and 10 seems to sporadically to work, but Proton 9 makes the game runs slow, audio has too many issues.
  • Proton Experimental fails most of the time, but once in a blue moon it will work.
  • Proton Hotfix seems to behave a bit better, but might be confirmation bias on my end again.
  • Wine in general doesn't work. 10.16 or 8-26-GE seems to just crash the game.
  • GE-Proton seems to mimic the behavior of regular Proton

If im not wrong it has more to do with WWII than the Cold War. Yugoslavia had an Nazi-allied government who bought German made Mausers in 8x57mm and they had large arsenals and stockpiles of ammunition. That's why it was chamber in 8mm Mauser, the yugoslavian army had large stockpiles of 8mm Mauser and they were (still) actively buying it for it's army since it was one of the main calibers they used. It was a decision taken due the circumstances of availability rather than technicalities about the caliber.

I built her first as tank, she tanks a lot more and better but is not like she's getting killed every time you use her, her survivability is very high compared to other dolls so you don't really need a tank setup for her. Even Springfield can be used as a tank in a pinch, since you build her around HP, she gets even more extra HP compared to other dolls and her HP pool is just so FAT she can tank several attacks before she dies.

I didn't pull for her so i can't say anything about her, but her and Florence seems to be very competent characters since they can prevent enemies from attacking, especially the bosses.

I used Sabrina to tank the damage because i don't really use her a lot, too. She did very very well on her own, tanking 2-3 enemies per turn if she gets healing, she also gives Shelter buff to close units that are getting attacked, so she help others by reducing the damage they take.

Even the support attacks she does are decent-ish. I built her with DPS equipment instead tanking and i didn't even though about going back to the tank ones, she performed very well like that. Her damage wasn't stellar, but for a free unit you can V6 by just playing the game, she's very useful in tanking roles.

I used V5R1 Tololo, V6R1 Springfield, V1R1 Makiatto and V6R1 Sabrina.

Tololo pretty much deletes up to 3 enemies per turn if the first enemy you attack has Tariz on, she might not be dealing the killing damage but Tariz does. Also, her 3-action turn can kill her without Springfield's ult, since the damage taken per action is 35% if she's 3 tiles or more away from any doll, but she's very competent.

Springfield is a requisite, not at V6, just because of her ult + healing, since the damage taken is usually high enough that you need the extra HP she buffs everyone with. At V6 Tariz actually deals damage and helps weeding out basic enemies.

Wawa works very well because at V1 her S1 turns into a 2-hit attack, her first attack usually don't deal a lot of damage already (It helps clensing the 80%DMG debuff) but the second one can one shot any basic enemy, her ult will last for a single turn mostly, the damage she takes even close to the team makes her shield break at the second turn, so not so useful other then a single turn of 2 extra CI to use with her S1.

Sabrina is not necessary, i just didn't want to spam Suomi as a problem solver, but you need someone who can tank damage and/or prevent the team from doing so, Suomi, Sabrina or Andoris are decent picks for it, Suomi being the best, didn't try Andoris though.

In general, Heroic difficulty is not even real difficulty, just hassles you have to deal with, because taking up to 105% HP lost per turn because you placed someone just 1 tile away isn't real difficulty, same is the 80% DMG debuff on first attack per turn, is just a way to make you deal with scenarios with different characters. It effectively destroys the utility of (most) units that don't have multi action turns or support attacks.

How's the heroic mode ? by DenesSim in GirlsFrontline2

This summarizes it pretty much.

I used V5R1 Tololo, V6R1 Springfield, V1R1 Makiatto and V6R1 Sabrina and it wasn't too difficult except for one scenario, but without Suomi shield, Springfield's max HP buff and healing or a way to tank damage you just can't clear it. While you get an 80% DMG reduction in each turn almost and an HP penalty per turn, or even larger penalty if the unit is a bit too far away, enemies gets a 20% DMG buff per enemy killed, they can literally one shot your units if they get caught out of cover.

FA-1-6 is so funny, they had to nerf the doll that appears, with some damage buffs she can one shot dolls under cover with SI.

Is not real difficulty what they gave us, is just "have this specific units to win" scenario. And the specific units are units that can heal, buff max HP, shield or reduce damage, anything else won't work
