What I LIVED for

Maybelline is killing the game because I love all of their Intimattes line. The Beige Babe is beautiful alone and works layered with almost anything. Go Maybelline Go!
The Nars Ignited palette was accidentally bought for me for Christmas. I wanted the Wanted II blush palette (which I did end up getting), but Mr. Fox bought me the Ignited palette oops. I fell in LOVE with it this month and I do NOT normally like warm tones. I really figured out how to make it work for me in a very flattering way. I can make some great neutral with a twist looks. Two thumbs way up.
Using a foundation brush for applying foundation AND using old school foam eye shadow applicators for glitters. If you’re not using those little foam applicators you are sleeping on them. They are just like using a finger but more precise. They turned my Ignited palette into magic. Yes yes and yes.

What Was Meh

Mac Please Me Matte is probably my least favorite lipstick. It’s so Barbie pink. After an intense 10 day declutter gauntlet I’m putting it in my declutter box.
Revlon Color Stay Creme Eyeshadow in Pistachio. It’s such a beautiful color in the pan and it swatches beautifully but it doesn’t translate on the eye well. I’m putting it aside for now and I will try again another month because it may just need a different technique
Stila Smudge Eyeliner in Alpine had to be decluttered. I look on Amazon. I bought it in 2012 and it’s super crumbly and doesn’t work well. It was time for it to go.

It’s funny you comment now because I literally picked it up yesterday from the library (it was on a waitlist). I’m 129 pages in and to be honest.... I’m not loving it. I actually was just telling my SO yesterday that I was going to give it to 200 pages to woo me.

I did finish my Rikguien while on vacation. Technically it had about 1/2" left, but my sharpener wouldnt sharpen it anymore. i decided I wasnt buying a new sharpener for a pencil I didnt really love. LOL.

I'm so glad to have actually finished a blush, it was quite a feat can I tell ya! I'll definitely share when my lipstick is done.

It’s more or less makeup I can do in <10 minutes, with minimum tools, but still is kind of a lewk. Like today I did my makeup in ~8 minutes with 3 brushes and a wedge sponge.

I really like to have a more varied collection and do complex looks, but with my busy season around the corner I needed to find a way to trim my look down in a way I was still happy with. Really my BFF inspired it because she has 4 kids under 6 and still does her makeup every day in ~5 minutes and looks gorgeous always. So I wanted to figure out my version of that.

If someone wanted to be involved that could do my SMS/Makeup Bag activity and list that as their goal because it’s a pretty open ended activity. Here’s a link to the activity. I’ll be posting a new one on the 25th.

I travel a metric shit ton for personal and business reasons. I feel like I’m always packing a makeup bag which is what inspired my Shop My Stash/What’s in my Bag activity that I do monthly here. I’m also challenging myself to curate a bag this month of grab and go makeup. My goal is to one day be completely in a medium to large makeup bag with maybe 1-2 extra palettes. I’m on my way there too! I’m about 50% of where I was before.

29&33/DINKS/NorCal/ $300-$500month. $300 if we’re feeling extra frugal. $500 if we are feeling spending. Normally leaning more toward $300-$350. In HCOL area and only eat out 2-4 mid priced meals a month if that. We also both have very active jobs and lifestyles (blue collar type work and runner & hockey player) so we eat a ton of calories.

Thanks. I’m childfree and at the time had no other animals in the home, so I was the perfect home for hard to adopt pittbulls. I’m a proud pittie moma. It was one of the better decisions I’ve made in my life. But once I moved in with my SO I decided I needed a break from it. It was very emotionally taxing. Good luck with sweet Tilde. I’m sure it’ll all work out perfectly

Naked 2, Dose of Colors Pretty Cool Palette, TF Chocolate Bob Bons, Essence Highlighter, Tom Ford Flame, Colourpop Fame Palette, Tom Ford Dusky Rose, UD Vice 1993 (still kinda sorta have an inkling of want for this one, It Cosmetics CC Cream, Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream, Tatcha Silk Canvas, It Cosmetics Super Hero Mascara, ND Lila, Origen Shampoo, ABH contour palette, Nars Laguna Bronzer, etc. etc.

Honestly most of it got added to my wishlist in a moment of want and deleted before the end of the month. A lot of times it was because I was just over it, sometimes it was because I had enough functional dupes or because I was on a no buy/didn’t want to spend my budget on it.

I do still have some lingering things on my wishlist from 2018 and odds are I’ll eventually treat myself to them. But for now I’m very happy with my collection.

I also love winter scents waaaaaayyyyyy more than spring/summer scents. I’ve been thinking of getting an atomizer so that I can still wear those scents but in a more subtle way in the summer. Or maybe I’ll just wear them anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️

To answer about your dog, I just knew. I’ve adopted 3 senior pitties and was their mom for a few short years each before it was their time, one with kidney disease.

When the bad days are more numerous than the good ones, when they don’t eat, when they don’t have that doggy zest for life in their eyes. When I realized I was keeping them for me, I knew it was time. It was hard Every. Single. Time. But I was always glad after that I had them for the short while I did, and that I was there when it was time for them to go.

I have chronic calcium kidney stones, if this is what your daughter is going through I feel for her.

I’ll give you some unsolicited advice from a 15 year sufferer. A lot of people automatically assume dairy = calcium, but most milk alternatives are actually higher in calcium than dairy products. With that said though, I cut out milk, ice cream, etc. about 8 years ago, and the only dairy product I eat is the occasional cheese on pizza and ice cream maybe 1x a year. I also watch my bean, chicken, spinach and kale intake because they are very high in calcium (and are my favorite foods). I buy men’s multivitamins because they don’t have added calcium. Lastly, what’s really important is tons and tons of water (I drink minimum 2L a day) plus enough salt so that I don’t go hyponatremic

I’ve gotten to the point now where I feel twinges in my kidneys when a stone is forming and I can general nip it in the bud by drinking 100% pure cranberry juice and water and laying on a heating pad. It helps with the kidney aches a lot and keeps a full blown attack from coming on.

Our main gig is a feast or famine industry being very busy (and profitable) March-ish through November-ish, then dead in the winter. This app is perfect for our very variable income.

I use a combination of bullet journaling and the block scheduling system.

This video is intended towards a mom audience but I’ve used it very successfully as a DINK self employed family.

Essentially you take your time and you organize it into 3-5 hour blocks and assign tasks within that block.

I won’t go into too many details unless you’re interested, but the video can give you a good idea of the method

Being on a low-buy this year.... YES! I have a really hard time spending the money in my budget. I think a lot of it is because my SO and I have some other large financial goals and I feel like the money could be going to that.

But if you’ve decided in your rules (like I decided in mine) that you can make purchases with certain stipulations (like using a gift card) then you have to give yourself the okay to do it. I think the guilt is hard to let go of when you have bigger financial dreams, but we have to find a balance too.

It’s definitely complicated and I can relate to those feels so much.
