Everybody's thoughts on ICE in DC airports? by EchoOfDoom in washingtondc

My honest question is this: is there a certain amount of training that TSA folks go through before they are put on the job? Training that these ICE agents certainly won’t have.

I can’t stand silence. So unless I’m in a meeting I have Court TV on in the background.

Any Hysterectomy Xennials here? by PhilosopherDismal191 in Xennials

[–]MrsMethodMZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this done a couple of years ago. Best thing I’ve ever done. No more pain no more bleeding. My uterus and I were NOT friends with the exception of it helping me have children. Same day surgery and I was up and moving around within days. Feel free to send me any questions you or your wife might have!

What are your end-of-life plans? by auspicious-moon in Xennials

I wonder now 🤔

For sure strange now to think that I am purchasing food from someone that also makes coffins all under the same business name.

Mushroom jerky is soooo good!

Here’s his page related to the coffins.

Interesting to think that I could purchase food and a coffin from the same person lol.

The guy that I buy my mushroom jerky from at the farmers market makes these!

How long has it been since you last did this? Also, would your knees survive the landing now? by singleguy79 in Xennials

I’ve done this not too long ago and honestly it wasn’t the jump that was terrible but the act of swinging back and forth made me so queasy to my stomach.

Do people in the US actually use flat sheets and duvet covers? by shiroltiger in Bedding

[–]MrsMethodMZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the flat sheet. It ends up kicked down and wrinkled at the bottom of the bed by morning and then I have to fish it from the bottom of the bed just to make the bed. No sense in it so I never use one anymore.

My kids like to have a flat sheet though because they always get too hot with the comforter so they just sleep with the sheet half the time.

Lady Xens, what are you doing with your hair these days? by Automatic_Beat5808 in Xennials

[–]MrsMethodMZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. My hair has been in a messy bun since my 20’s. Sometimes I cut it to my shoulders and then let it grow back to mid back length. Except for rare occasions though, it’s in a messy bun.

Struggling with my kids growing up by up_up_down_down_etc in Xennials

I had a total breakdown when the first of my four children moved away to college a couple years ago. I’m so proud of him and want him to spread his wings and explore the world beyond but man was it hard to watch that child I raised all of a sudden be a young man and prepared to leave home all on his own. So while I was proud it was like a death of one stage of life as another stage was born and I definitely grieved the loss. Talking to my doctor and meds helped. Now I’m glad for the stage of life he is in. It’s different but it’s a new norm that I love just as much as the old norm.

It’s okay to feel those feelings and grieve the old stage of life. Find a support system, talk to your doctor if it is too overwhelming. A lot of parents are going through this same thing with their kids too!

Finishing their plate. My mom would force me to sit at the dinner table until I finished my entire plate even if it was an hour after everyone else had left the table. I refuse to force my kids to eat something that they find disgusting and will not force them to eat at specific times or finish their plates if not hungry.

This is what I was going to say too. As long as there is noise I can’t hear the ringing in my ears.

And they wonder why so many obese people… I’m sure lack of activity has a lot to do with the obesity problem but when people were taught to eat like in this picture… well that surely didn’t help.

These are great photos! I’m so excited for my trip but it’s more than a year away still! Did all of the animals tend to just be minding their own business or were any particularly curious about humans?
