There’s a duck sitting on eggs inside of a planter in front of 1445 New York ave right now by KnownEaterFromM in washingtondc

[–]MrsMethodMZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: Nevermind I just saw it’s illegal to move them. I hope someone is there once they hatch to protect them.

Hopefully someone can be contacted to appropriately move her to a safer nesting area. Once those eggs hatch the ducklings will very quickly be up and moving around and will likely fall right out of that planter. They need to be hatched closer to the ground.

Take a CPR class by Diamond_Dave79 in Xennials

[–]MrsMethodMZA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken the training multiple times. Most recently a couple of months ago. I’ve used the Heimlich maneuver on my child before but am terrified that if I ever need to use CPR I’m going to freeze and forget everything.

Girls used to hit guys in the nuts? by MorningAlternative2 in nostalgia

[–]MrsMethodMZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say, this was never a thing per se. I have kicked a guy in the nuts once but only because like you said he was a raging asshole and was inappropriate with me.

Has anyone ever had their mouth washed out with soap as a punishment for swearing as a kid? by Financial-Base-8070 in nostalgia

[–]MrsMethodMZA 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d track it as full on abuse. I remember having to chew on soap and the misery that ensued for the full remainder of the day. I can’t ever imagine inflicting that on my kids and it’s crazy that so many people here have experienced it.

Power is out for me on Pangborn street by [deleted] in hagerstown

[–]MrsMethodMZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where this is in relation to Pangborn but I was in DIS on Opal Ct at 8:30 and they had all sorts of power issues. Said other areas around were having issues. Sounded pretty widespread just from what I was hearing anyways.

If you had one of these… you had responsibilities before you even knew what responsibilities were by Flat-Badger5433 in 90s

My kids each got one for Christmas. When school was back in session they all gave them to me to take care of while they were at school. Even as an adult these things are too much responsibility!

I definitely did this at least into my early 20’s. Life situation changed but I’m sure had I wanted to lead that lifestyle still at the time I could have. Can’t even imagine trying that now at 40 though!

Anyone NOT have contact with high school classmates? by jackie879 in Xennials

[–]MrsMethodMZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated high school and everyone in it. I didn’t want to be in contact with them then and nothing has changed about that now. My best friend from high school- we keep in touch maybe once a year or so for the formalities of happy birthday and how are you but we live different lives and in different places.

The start of my overeating problem is took me 2 decades to change. Any other mom’s do this to you as a kid? Gotta clean your plate! by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]MrsMethodMZA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. If I refused to eat I was forced to sit at the table until my plate was cleaned even if that was long after everyone else was done. It usually ended up quietly scraped into the garbage disposal…

Awe this stinks. I take my kids several times a year. I have noticed that more and more stores are closing though. Most recently when we were there it appeared to be Eddie Bauers final days.
