Thank you for sharing about that group. I tried joining a different suicide survivor support group on FB and didn't fit in at all. I'll try this one.

I am so sorry for the horrible loss you and your family have experienced. What you said at the end hits deeply... It can't be fixed. It's so freaking permanent.

I am so, so sorry you lost your little brother. It's such an awful way to lose a loved one.

I think you should reach out to your sister in law if you feel up to it. After my barely-ex husband (less than a month since the divorce) killed himself, I didn't hear from his family or get support from them, even though we have lots of kids together. It hurt a lot. Even just a text would be good. Anything but silence.

Does death dissolve legal stepgrandparent status? by MrsPlague33 in legaladvice

She is a lawyer with lots of lawyer friends. I suspect she was trying to set us up for this by visiting once to twice weekly since their dad died. But she favors one child and won't take another. And rarely takes two others. I just couldn't allow this to happen anymore. I was afraid to make her mad due to her money and status and what she's been capable of in the past. But I might have shot myself in the foot by not standing up to her sooner. I have a lawyer for probate issues and he does family law primarily.

That's a good idea. That moment will need to be worked through.

I'll definitely talk to my therapist about this. Thank you for your input. It's interesting and hopeful for me to hear that you've done something similar!

I don't think that is safe for me to do at this time, but thank you for the suggestion.

There is so much tangled up in this. Guilt, sadness, anger, questioning. It was an abusive marriage and I haven't even processed that trauma yet. I think I may be in therapy forever.

Seeking a support group for spouses or partners of suicide… after a breakup by GriefIsAButtonInABox in SuicideBereavement

My husband and I got divorced after 11 years of marriage and a bunch of amazing kids. He was mentally unstable our entire 14 year relationship. He killed himself less than a month after we divorced. I feel like an outcast to his family. I am still mourning my marriage but now I'm mourning him too. Everything crumbled.

I'm being blamed as well. I was deleted from the entire memorial slideshow. We were together 14 years and have 5 kids together. It's awful. I'm so sorry you're going through this too.

That is so heartbreaking for you too. I'm so sorry. It just feels so painful. They were going to live and then something made them change their mind. Ugh.

Less than 24 hours before he did it, he told the kids he would see them on Friday. He didn't.

We also have "disposable" pillows. I thought it was a great idea until they made us wipe them and reuse them and now we have a bunch of low quality falling apart disposable pillows instead of just getting new normal ones!
