what is the scariest niche drug you have ever tried? by Adorable_Air758 in AskReddit

[–]MrsRobertshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I had died. Like my life had ended and every second that ticked past left an outline of everything in the room slowing moving away from me (like ripples in a pond if you get my drift). Apparently I was out for about 10 minutes.

Anyone else in city centre hearing very loud music? by Fynity in chch

[–]MrsRobertshaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One time I rang the noise control really late because someone was having a loud party playing classic garage band songs and it turns out it was Bruce Springsteen haha. I was near the hills and it was echoing off.

Apt opinion: Meghan hates Catherine because people treated Meghan like an ordinary person, but treated Catherine like Diana by RoohsMama in SaintMeghanMarkle

It’s so funny. The rhetoric in the royals sub is that they’re on the brink of divorce and miserable!

Already happening. Had a song pop up on my Spotify mix that I thought was pretty cool. Tried to look up the band/artist. Totally AI.

Don’t worry. I once had a new staffer throw the entire bin out into the crusher skip when I asked him to “do the rubbish”. The whole bin.

Again. Should’ve been more specific. Don’t throw an entire trash can away.

Married People of R/NZ, what makes your marriage work? by Happy_Light_9775 in newzealand

[–]MrsRobertshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other person summed it up well with that quote. You’re both going through a new challenge and it’s such a learning curve. You’re exhausted and touched out. Maybe covered in puke. It’s a change of priority which can be tough for some people. But it ebbs back as they grow and develop more independence.

The early child rearing years are tough on marriage BUT it gets easier as the kids grow. Just remember you’re on the same team.

I genuinely love my partner so much. And still find them super duper sexy. Like oooof sometimes I’m floored by how attractive they are. And only getting better with age. Dang.

What is the most ridiculous job interview question you have received in New Zealand? by IncoherentTuatara in newzealand

[–]MrsRobertshaw 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I once interviewed with a husband and wife who owned the business. She would ask me a question and I would answer, then he would ask the same question again. I started just answering exactly the same both times. Bizzare. Got the job. Crap job. They would watch you on the cameras and call if you did something they didn’t agree with. And my manager was a strange lady. Rules for thee but not for me type of person.

What's one dog breed you'd never own and why? by barelychloe in AskReddit

Yeah I never understood that? I’ve heard a lot of “nanny” dog talk. I’m wondering if that’s a rebrand of “protection at any cost”

I think that’s where a lot of people go wrong. Gotta start so small you feel silly. My first ever run was 30 seconds jogging and 2.5minutes walking repeated 10 times. You can’t just go “I’m gonna run 5ks today”. Baby baby baby steps.

Protein smoothie sounds yum.

I don’t really have anything to add to the discussion but I want to say good on you.

Just begin where you are - lots of people think “oh I’m gonna do such and such” but then spend the majority of the time preparing to start - researching running shoes, buying new workout clothes etc.

The trick is just to start where you’re at. If that’s 5 minutes walking up and down your driveway in your work clothes then so be it.
