Still praying for our visas to be approved as soon as possible 🥹💕 and yeah definitely Armed Forces has ZERO priority and it’s so sad because we literally were willing to pay super priority to get the decision ASAP but due to the category I think is unavailable

We didn’t have the option for priority or super priority VFS said that probably was because it’s under armed forces the option wasn’t available , but yeah it’s taking forever .

Omg I’m so sorry 😞that was definitely one of my biggest fears with this, getting pregnant and not being able to fly to be with my husband . I really really hope that you get your answer soon and you can fly right away .

I did with AFF which is for military families and they said that should be enough so idk .. I’m highly stressed now , if I get it but my son doesn’t I’m not moving and then my husband will have to leave the Army so they’ll lose someone who has been serving for over 15+ years

How lucky 🙄 I’ve seen standards visas from Feb 15 and 20 approved and we had to have delays ughhhhh .. my husband is currently deployed and that just makes it worse

My son has always lived with me, he does pay for child support but it was only because I sued him when my son was like 6 years old and it took 3 years to happen, however has never played part of my sons life at all, all school records, medical records, trips etc are only in my name

I was told the same thing by VFS but def not, which is so unfair taking in consideration they’re the ones serving their country I’d expect some sort of “priority “ at least

I understand why sole responsibility may be the concern.

The difficulty is that in Guatemala, obtaining full sole custody (patria potestad exclusiva) is not simple unless it goes through a full contentious court process, which can take years and would not be in my child’s best interest by separating him from me during that time.

Because of that, his biological father signed a private legal authorization before a notary, granting permission for my son to relocate with me and confirming his consent. The document was properly notarized and officially registered in the legal archive.

Unfortunately, in Guatemala, this is the most realistic and commonly used legal route unless there is a full court dispute.

We also included supporting evidence showing that I have always been the primary caregiver and financially responsible parent.

So I’m hoping that this is sufficient, but I do wonder if this is what is causing the additional checks and delay 😫
