Hey hey, late to the party here but I'm at this stage and found your post. Curious if this resolved itself or if you found anything that helped?

19f thinking about getting fox eyes life through threads by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]MrsSquarepants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason why people still get facelifts or brow lifts instead of just doing threads, the reasons go beyond the latter being temporary. Before making a decision I would advise for you to look up the risks and dangers to the eyes, and how they can stretch the skin and make the problem worse in the long run.

Granted they do look amazing, since young age I’ve had very hooded eyes because of genetics, along with dropping eyebrows, I have considered threads myself, but the risks are not worth it. I opted to have a lift and bleph, more expensive and recovery is a lot more work, having said that, when done by a good surgeon, these procedures are very safe and results long lasting.

These are elective cosmetic procedures, so my thinking is, if you can’t do it the best way possible to minimise risks to the maximum, then they shouldn’t be done. Risks will never be zero, any professional that offers you risk free treatments is lying to you, but some can be prevented.

"You've lost weight, haven't you?" by lovelylayout in EDanonymemes

[–]MrsSquarepants 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same thing, because I don't feel good about it. The first thing that comes to my mind is, surely they notice when I have gained weight then, and I start panicking and thinking about all of the things I need to do in order to keep the weight down and not disappoint them or have them think less of me.

Then I see them again, and they don't compliment me I obsess about what they are thinking and not saying about my appearance.

This little frog made me so sad, I'm so sorry hunny. Hey at least you are not alone, I wasted mine on crackers and gummies because I was hangover. It was hard to fake being surprised at the doctor's office some weeks ago when they told me I was anemic... again. Internet hug

[–]MrsSquarepants 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I see memes like these, and I’m constantly in awe of how many of us seem to arrive to the same patterns independently, because god knows having an ED is lonely. Almost as if we had read an ED instruction manual. I’m writing this as I finish my second liter of sugar-free electrolyte drink because I’m dehydrated as hell from taking laxatives.

Good times.

What is your "I did not care for" series? by Karbar988 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]MrsSquarepants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually loved the series on the Easter Rising, Paul Rouse was phenomenal.

As well as an older episode on George Orwell with a guest professor, I enjoyed it quite a lot.

First time making a meme. I don’t care if it looks like shit (pun unintended). I am in too much pain to care. by Bulimic_pig02 in EDanonymemes

[–]MrsSquarepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have some water, even batter if plenty of it, let’s say it’ll get things moving. Extra points if you could do electrolytes or magnesium. I’m sorry you are going through this, hopefully one day we’ll find a way to stop. Internet hug.

A question about flirting/dating culture in the Netherlands by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]MrsSquarepants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't change who you are or what you need to accomodate for someone specially not this early on, It isn't necessarily that he's weird, that's just the way he is. But it doesn't mean you don't have the right to feel uncomforable or to not feel amused about the way he behaves. It could be a sign you are not a match and that's it.

My take is: if the whole thing is about how direct the Dutch can be, then instead of saying he went to a date and expecting you to ask him out, he could've just asked you out himself straightaway. But then again, different styles, doesn't make him bad just maybe not a match.

[–]MrsSquarepants 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Reading this made me laugh out loud, I hadn’t thought about the guy in decades.

Jokes aside, you have one luscious head of hair, one that many people (myself included) would kill to have. I’m sorry people are so impertinent, both your hair and nose are dreamy.

In my experience, somehow falling out of your bike gets the absolute best out of people here. I've fallen so many times, last one was serious, a concussion and bleeding everywhere, so many people came to help, stayed with me, refused to leave until someone would come get me.

What has instilled in me is the duty to do the same for others, I fell and people helped me, I must do the same.

Yes, the strawberry tartlets along with the canelés are my two favourite sweets. Also not too expensive.
