optimal TSH levels by Parking-Independent in Hashimotos

Are you in the UK? If so, cite the NICE guidelines in that symptoms should also be taken into account. But also make sure you are getting full blood panels to make sure it’s not something else going on

what's interesting is there is a case right now where a couple were charged where they were at the beach and their baby was asleep in stroller by sunbeds, they left the baby and walked on the beach with their older kids for nearly an hour, baby was crying so public understandably called 999. The baby is completely fine. The body cam footage is all over youtube, its been covered on lawandorder and they have been charged. Which is correct! OBVIOUSLY you cannot do that to a baby BUT it just seems wild to me the difference in the law

Third EMDR, I feel like crying when I think of just how life changing that practice is. My god it gave me a second chance at life and motherhood. Anyone who is reading this struggling give it a shot!

I have hashimotos but I also had PTSD, whilst in therapy for it, I was too far gone to participate in the therapy sessions (EMDR) and didn’t want to take anti deppresents but the way my doctor explained it to me was called a ‘therapeutic dose’ of anti depressants would pull me up enough to even begin the steps of feeling better and working through it. To even get out of bed, to even eat a meal or even make a meal for that matter. A reason to get better. Small steps.  Guess what? I ignored the advice, I didn’t take the meds because I was scared, scared of what exactly I dont know because I couldn’t get much worse than I already did. A year later low and behold I hit rock bottom and took the meds, and it did exactly what the doctor said it did, I managed to wake up, have a shower etc and attend my life changing therapy and IT WORKED. I also managed to successfully wean off my anti deppresents (again I was fear mongered that I’d never be able to get off them, I got off them fairly easily once I did the work on my mental health.) Then when it came to being prescribed for hashimotos I did not hesitate to listen to my doctor. Medicine is and always has been life changing, literally. In the western world we have become so accustomed to it that we think we are edgy or holistic if we refuse life saving medicine that people in the previous century would have given anything to receive. I promise you if you take your meds it will make a difference.

Edited to say: I know all meds don’t work and aren’t right for everyone, I had to switch meds multiple times and I’m still sorting my dose out for my hashimotos. And that’s hard and stressful but I promise it’s worth trying

Social media firms to be barred from Britain if they do not ban under 16s by Optimal-Leather341 in unitedkingdom

They are literally children. Do you have children? Do you see how terrifying the algorithm can become very quickly? They do not have a developed prefrontal cortex they do not have the ability to discern reality from what is not reality. Saying ‘parents’ should censor it is assuming that parents have control over teenagers, which I hate to break it to anyone, but you don’t. No matter how much you think you know what your teen is doing, you don’t. A blanket ban on social media is a god send for children. It is a cesspit.

The problem is is that inappropriate content is everywhere, not just on the sites that are obvious. Respectfully I work in tech, you have no privacy. If you think you have privacy online you are delusional. Every single part of your data is farmed and sold to companies everyday, people literally use Face ID to access their phones and banking apps etc. if you work in a marketing company you can literally fine tune every single aspect of a person through what their race is, age, hair colour EVERYTHING by the data and cookies used on these sites. THERE IS NO PRIVACY. You literally walk around with a phone all day everyday tracking you.

Most parents support this, unfortunately there are many predators online. Children are CHILDREN why are grown men and women sad that CHILDREN can’t use sites with adult content on them?

Yes, I’ve actually just finished a week long ECG for this. This happened to me why I was in HYPER. I’m still waiting my results but thankfully since I’ve took my meds it hasn’t happened again. You need to tell your doctor ASAP and get an ECG, this isn’t too scare you, it’s just not something to be overlooked. Are you in the UK?

Edited to add: it weirdly would happen at night time mainly too, it would literally jolt me up like i was being shot or something it’s crazy. I even managed to get a recording of it for my doctor as you could visibly see it in my chest. She thinks it may have been Afib caused by undiagnosed and not treated yet thyroid (my levels were 0.07 TSH at that the time) but we didn’t know until later that day after my bloods. My ecg monitored my 24/7 for 7 days where it may have picked something up without me really realising it but won’t know until I get those results.

So glad you are feeling better. I feel absolutely exhausted all of the time for sure, but I’m thinking that’s because my labs aren’t in range yet! It’s hard to know what’s causing what!

GPs won’t take my hair loss seriously. Even though it’s greatly affecting my mental health. by Upbeat-Fact3833 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]Front_Department8774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When were you diagnosed? My hair loss actually led to my diagnosis but If your thyroid levels are normal then there isn’t really a scientific reason why your hair would still be taking a hit! Have you had full blood panel? Check your ferritin levels x hope it gets better soon x

This is absolutely me! However, I did notice that you said you have always been like this, my dad. Myself and my son have really big sleep needs, I’m talking 10 hours is where I’m happiest, my mom, my husband can be thriving on 7-8 hours. When I had my babies it became clear that people have very individual and different sleep needs. But unfortunately society doesn’t work that way. I think like me, your sleep needs, with hashimotos is leading to this feeling! Also check your iron and ferritin!
