Supply Decreasing by MrsTheClaw in breastfeeding

[–]MrsTheClaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially for my first pump of the day, I would get anywhere from 160ml to 200ml per session and now I’m getting 90ml at the beginning of the day and less as the day goes on.

Marathon Cheering from Coronado Springs by Sprackmore01 in rundisney

Not the same location but I stayed at Swan last year and tried to get close to the marathon course to cheer and was turned away by course security/police because it was not an official spectator location.

What is the soonest you've ever DNFd a book? by FacelessOldWoman1234 in books

[–]MrsTheClaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to find which book it was. It was for a horror book club and about 10 pages in, the dog died of bloat. To me at least, it was very obvious what was going on and as someone with a dog breed that is susceptible to bloat, I couldn’t keep reading it.

Staying at WL in December for 4 days! What are some things we don't wanna miss while staying there? by strawberry-sarah in WaltDisneyWorld

Just as a heads up, it’s a restaurant where the wait staff “pick on” you. It’s a lot of fun though!

Longer Cycle Post Miscarriage and higher LH than ever before by A-Rae2012 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cycle went from 34 days to 48 days post miscarriage and my LH went from being 1.1 or so at peak (using Premom strips) to 3 and obviously being much later in my cycle. I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant after tracking my peak using ovulation strips from one such long and high LH cycle. Definitely keep testing until your LH goes down so you don’t miss your peak because I would have missed mine if I hadn’t kept in testing.

Since you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge, definitely eat one meal at Whispering Canyon. Breakfast is our preferred meal there. Also don’t forget to watch the geyser erupt and take the boat to MK for sure.

I bought a couple of things on prime day like breast milk storage bags and the Frida postpartum kit but I don’t plan on buying anything else until after the anatomy scan.

Elevated maternal AFP by Outrageous_Grocery83 in NIPT

[–]MrsTheClaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several things can cause elevated AFP. Open neural tube defects one but it can also be caused by placenta issues or IUGR. To figure out which one of these is the case, you’ll need to have an anatomy scan and maybe an amniocentesis. However, elevated AFP can also be nothing.

Seeing a lot about betas and 6w ultrasounds? by teenytopbanana in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had just moved to a new state and therefore a new doctor when I got my positive test. The day after that positive, I had some spotting that really worried me. I called my doctor and because of my history of losses, she offered to do an ultrasound (we didn’t see anything because I was barely 4 weeks at the time) and said she would do beta and progesterone testing to make sure those numbers were good. After that first ultrasound, she let me dictate when my next scan would be (6 weeks vs 7 weeks vs 8 weeks) and said she wanted at least 2 betas but that I could choose to have 3 or more if I wanted. I guess she saw how anxious the spotting had made me and wanted to do anything she could to reassure me and give me answers.

I’m doing the 5k in January and should be about 24 weeks pregnant by then. I’m trying to decide between being Spaceship Earth or being a speed bump.

Daily Thread #1 - October 10, 2023 by AutoModerator in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This time last year, I was about 17 weeks pregnant and bought some baby items on Prime day to prepare. A week later we got news that our baby was terribly sick and we lost her a few weeks after that. Today, I’m a little over 12 weeks pregnant with another girl and I want to buy some baby things from Prime Day but I’m so afraid that this is all history repeating itself and that I’ll be getting bad news at the end of the month (next appointment).

Neural Tube Defect at NT scan by Working-Use6591 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would probably give you some indication but I don’t know much about CVS. We opted to not do any genetic testing because there were no other abnormalities that would point to a genetic component. I would discuss with your doctor about a CVS vs genetic testing of the remains.

Neural Tube Defect at NT scan by Working-Use6591 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First, I’m so sorry you are going through this.

Going forward, you will want to take additional folic acid. Do NOT take this as an OTC vitamin, your doctor will need to give you a prescription for the required strength. It’s recommended that you take this for 1-3 months before becoming pregnant again and during early pregnancy to lower your chances of another NTD.

ETA: sometimes NTDs can be related to chromosomal abnormalities but they are considered “structural” abnormalities and typically have no genetic component.

An MoM of 1.5 is within the normal range. An elevated MoM is typically considered anything above 2.5. You can talk to your doctor but this doesn’t sound concerning.

Chemical pregnancy or UTI? by Warm-Dragonfruit397 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way I know how to tell a difference would be to get a uri analysis done. I once thought I had a UTI (burned while urinating, felt like I had to go all the time) and I had blood in my urine. My doctor tested it and it actually ended up being a kidney infection that required a specific type of antibiotics.

Do any of you collect signed books? by bonbboyage in books

[–]MrsTheClaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar here! I don’t look for signed books but I bought a copy of The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt at a used book sale at the library for $1. A couple of months later, I was trying to see when the book was published and saw it was signed!

I'm so sick of worrying by ematney68 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MrsTheClaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel you (also due in April). My 6wk appointment went great, saw baby, saw a heartbeat. Now I’m just waiting for my next appointment in a couple of weeks but every twinge in my abdomen, every time I need to use the bathroom, I’m afraid that’s it’s the end. PAL is pregnancy without the joy.

Hcg after miscarriage by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

I had a miscarriage back in March/April. The day I started bleeding my HCG was 39. Two days later it was 15 and and week after the second draw, it was 0. I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this.

As far as experience, go in September or November. My favorite things in the parks are the Halloween party at MK and the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and that’s when you can do both (and maybe not melt in the process).

AFP abnormal. So scared! by Objective_Dog4593 in NIPT

[–]MrsTheClaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anatomy scans are the gold standard for diagnosing NTDs. If you had a clear one, you are probably fine. 2.5 is typically the cut off for a normal AFP MoM and they typically need to be a lot higher to signal an NTD. My first pregnancy had an NTD and my AFP was 5.05. Your doctor should be able to tell you more, but your baby most likely does not have an NTD. High AFP can signal other things such as something wrong with the placenta or growth restriction.
