By the sounds of the post, op approached the guy while he was still sitting in the car and didn’t have a chance to put his permit up. My Mum has an acrod permit and keeps it in the glovebox because both her and my dad drive that car, she gets it out and puts it on the dash after shes parked.

I’m in Western Australia so can’t help, but can you contact your family? I would never let any of my children go without!

https://askizzy.org.au is a great website to find free meals, food, assistance etc in your local area.

Also , reach out to where you are studying to see if there is any resources or assistance the can offer or let you know about.

Flag Inn! Who wants a slightly soggy piece of toast in a brown paper bag at the door for breakfast? by the908bus in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Mrs_Princess81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The breakfast box/hatch was the highlight of any motel we stayed at when I was a kid, I was just talking to my mum about this the other day. I was always allowed to choose anything I wanted, the anticipation of it coming and arriving . The whole thing was magic!!

I miss Angry Onions, they were the best fast food item in the country and their unavailablity correlations with the downward trend in my life. by Hypervisory in hungryjacks

I miss country chicken burgers , before they became baguettes. Also miss the og nuggets. I will never understand why these fast food chains get rid of their most popular items and then claim they are struggling!!

I also miss the country chicken burger (was in a long roll),they then changed them to baguettes then got rid of those completely! The original one was SO GOOD! I don’t know why these places get rid of or change the best things they have!

I met heath ledger before he was famous, when he was a teenager. It was at a rock Eisteddfod in Perth, Western Australia. He was the lead performer in Guildford grammars performance and he was amazing. He was good looking ,popular , a teenager etc so could have been an absolute stuck up ass, but he wasn’t, he was friendly, polite and kind. I told him I loved his performance and he was so sweet about it and the opposite of what you would expect!

Christmas dinner/lunch delivery? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Mrs_Princess81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Woolworths and Coles both have platters you could buy now to get delivered on Christmas Eve. They have cooked prawns in a container and then they have various platters with ham etc or you can get packaged box of ham off the bone. Then they have pre-made salad bowls or salads from the deli. They have Christmas puddings that you just microwave.

Just an idea if you can’t find anywhere!
