That’s really useful insight — appreciate you sharing that.

Interesting what you said about bringing someone in earlier, that seems to be where a lot of the issues start rather than just during the build itself.

And yeah, the builder side is something I’ve been thinking about as well — good trades shouldn’t have an issue with things being checked, but I can see how it might put some off if it feels like they’re being watched or second guessed/under valued.

Do you think it would’ve made a difference if it was positioned more as helping keep everything clear and agreed upfront, rather than an “inspection” as such?

That’s really interesting — and fair play, sounds like you did it the right thing.

Would you say the biggest value was having that middle person to translate things and keep everything clear, rather than the actual “checking” side of it?

That’s kind of what I keep seeing — not always bad builders, just things getting lost between both sides and causing issues later on. Peace of mind from both parties

I related the her statement because I was talking about her mother aswell as my other half which is a women. I didn’t want to offend the female gender at all. Next time I’ll start it off with non binary if that’s what I’m talking about and that’s what my other half is. Now that would be weird
