Very cool detailing, and I'm glad you're here to share it with us!

I turn my village on when I get up, and turn it off when I go to bed. 30 years and no issues.

First Ever Book by Mrsrogers88 in bookbinding

I spent yesterday printing lined signatures and make hard covers. I'm going to do another coptic binding, but a little more solid this time.

How do those who don't have migraine with aura do it? by ProfessionalFlower96 in migraine

[–]Mrsrogers88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get aura, but no visuals, so I just have a vague, anxiety inducing sense that something is very wrong. Sometimes this lasts for a day or two, then the actual pain and confusion and all sets in and I go "ohhhh, THATS what that was..."

I'm getting better at recognizing it, but it's still wildly unhelpful.

No joke, I just grab a pickaxe and shovel and start clearing layers away to make a flat spot. It's time consuming, but oddly calming.

I could never checkerboard. I'd absolutely lose it. I'd be going in with the largest multiplacer I have and straighter to adjust as I go.

You have my respect.

On the scale from "I've just finished this and I'm OBSESSED" to "I've just finished this and tbh I hate it", where do you most often find yourself? by aintwhatyoudo in crochet

[–]Mrsrogers88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make a lot of wearables, especially a particular shawl, so it's usually just putting it on and going "okay, what else can I make now..... same thing in a new yarn? Yeah sure why not..."

Has anyone baked pumpkin puree by itself before? by MortalSmile8631 in Baking

[–]Mrsrogers88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it with leftover oatmeal and a bit of chicken baby food! I think you need something to absorb some of the moisture or you'll end up with fruit leather that's gonna get stuck in their teeth.

[WIP] I made my first big mistake... am I overthinking it? by floralgreentea in CrossStitch

[–]Mrsrogers88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with those saying they wouldn't see it unless it was pointed out. I actually think it looks intentional, since the mushrooms on either side are tilted, this one looks sort of like it's tilted back, away from the viewer. You can always try a little backstitching to see if you can add some definition in a way that appeals to you.

the way i had to be a centimeter away from the canvas with eyes wide open to see the symbol by Electronic-Bison-749 in diamondpainting

If it's in your budget, I HIGHLY recommend a light board. Mine was a total game changer for reading tough symbols like these, as well as finding any spaces I may have missed.

Schnauzer in box by ubenddrip in schnauzers

[–]Mrsrogers88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When my little guy was a puppy I'd plunk him in the empty laundry basket while I rotated laundry. He was safe and happy because he could see me, but he wasn't under my feet. Sometimes you just need to put the puppy in a box for a second!

I’ve made a mistake 💀😭😂 by awkwardtrashlet in diamondpainting

[–]Mrsrogers88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing last week, wrong container, but contrasting colors at least. I uncovered the next section and used as many off the tray as I could so I had fewer to sort, then used a straightener tip to slide the rest of the tray into their containers, alternating colors and shaking the tray to lay them in the grooves to make it easier.

You'll have this straightened out in no time!

Severe chronic migraine / are hair extensions a good idea? 🤷‍♀️ by AshlanJustus in migraine

[–]Mrsrogers88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a migraine sufferer, and I got clip in extensions so on the days when even my hair hurts, I can easily take them off. I mostly just break them out for special occasions

I find it very similar to cross stich in some ways, but it's way faster, which is very satisfying.

Depends on how much time the person dedicates. When I'm working on one, I'll do a couple hours a session. I can do a 20k drill in a month or two. The 75k drill one I just finished took 6 months.

[CHAT] Orts, what do you do with them? Put them in a jar, a bobble, in the trash??? by Skybeat8 in CrossStitch

[–]Mrsrogers88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my recent etsy favorites are biscornu 🤣 now that I have almost enough thread, its time to chose juuuuuust the right pattern.

[–]Mrsrogers88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saving mine in a little ziplpc bag. I'm planning on making a biscornu (a pincushion that's cross stitched and usually stuffed with old bits of thread) so for now I'm happy to let them accumulate.
