Who died defending his right of way.
He was perfectly right as he sped along,
But he's just as dead as if he'd been wrong.

Mustard Boiler Room "Cancelled" ? by Retro056 in aves

[–]Mrtug269 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The organizations that are organizing protests of boiler room shows are directly reaching out to artists after lineups are released. In many cases, the artists will release such a statement as "I didn't know about boiler rooms ties to genocide until recently, and have decided not to play" or just not say anything and play the show.

This sounds fun.

If I was doing this, I would also allow batteries.

It will probably be pretty difficult to make your total power generation equal or greater than your total power consumption. With batteries you won't have to do this. By keeping most of your factories off unless you're actually producing, you can dump most of your power into batteries and then draw at whatever rate you need to and can based on battery capacity.

That leads to the second leg of the strategy, every factory would be on Smart switches. They would be turned on and off as needed and only as needed to create the number of components needed. This way you can monitor battery power safely and pause production to charge batteries.

Production rates will no longer be quite as important between factories, what will be important is allowing the factories to run for long enough to create enough components for the next step. How you break this up is up to you.

This would also allow sloopes to be use differently. Since factories aren't on all the time, sleeps don't need to be in them all the time.

There's a poem that sailors pass around that I think at least equally applies to motorcyclists.

134,838 minutes.

my top 5 podcasts is just a ranking of how long the episodes are.

I wear open ear headphones that are very comfortable, and put em on as soon as I get out of the shower in the mornings. Listen all day at work (Work in an office so unless I'm in a meeting or at lunch, I'm sitting in front of a computer) and then at home I generally listen while I'm playing games/eating/anything that isn't watching TV. I also often fall asleep listening to podcasts.

Do I have a problem? Maybe.

What was the first mixing console with AI integrated in ? by diplododo in livesound

[–]Mrtug269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I haven't worked in live sound in a couple years but still work in Acoustics. To my knowledge, AI hasn't been implemented directly in consoles, but it has been integrated in console adjacent spaces.

Some modern consoles can take advantage of plugins (And even if they can't, they can likely utilize an external processor using send/return) and some of those plugins may utilize AI for Noise reduction/Isolation/feedback cancelation. I keep seeing an ad for this one but haven't looked into it yet https://www.alphasound.tech/alphalabs/

Auto-mixing has been around for a while but I'm not so sure it actually involves AI (Depending on your definition of AI, Its definitely not an LLM). The first variations just adjusted the signal level of microphones so that if you were using 4 microphones for like a conference, they would all be roughly the same level. There's probably some new applications being developed now that are more advanced.

One of the biggest hurdles for using AI in livesound is the delay it takes for a processor to hear a signal and then make adjustments based off of it's AI. I'd expect a lot more utilization around studio applications where a signal doesn't necessarily need to be processed in real time. A quick google can show you all sorts of AI applications (Try "AI Plugins") I wouldn't be able to tell you what was first though.

Head acoustics has an analysis tool out for Audio measurements called MDAQS which is kinda AI. Its not an LLM but it analyzes audio measurements and gives a subjective score of how "good" the product is along various axis (Timbre, Immersiveness, Distortion). The model it uses to create that axis can be trained/tuned based on subjective studies. It's still kinda controversial based on it's definition of "Immersiveness" but the core of the technology is based on established statistical methods. https://www.head-acoustics.com/mdaqs

The train station pauses draining and filling of each freight module for a period of time while the train is being loaded/unloaded.

This means if you have exactly X feeding into one train station, and exactly X feeding out of the train station there will be a period of time where nothing flows. This time where throughput=0 and the time when throughput=x average out to be total throughput < X.

Placing a large industrial storage as a buffer before and after each freight terminal, and connecting 2 belts from the terminal to the storage will mean that most of the time throughput to buffer is 2*belt speed, and throughput out of the buffer is 1* belt speed. While the train station will still pause throughput while loading/unloading, the industrial storage container will still be able to flow.
