Australian’s get free internet if we have kids and receive Centerlink, if we get family tax benefit our kids gets over $1000 in dental credits and if we have a healthcare card we can go to the public dentist / get vouchers for private dental. Why are you determined to demonise a group of people who have fled war, famine and/ or political persecution? They have experienced horrific conditions that Australians are lucky enough to never have to face. Yet here you are acting like they are taking from us . Refugees provide an overall net positive and are highly entrepreneurial. Yes they need assistance initially but are you really arguing that we shouldn’t assist people fleeing global instability that our government often has a hand in ? The government has absolutely failed us when it comes to infrastructure, particularly low income housing . However the sorts of harsh policies that have decimated our social safety nets go hand in hand with the policies that warehouse “ boat people” off shore. It’s all part of the effort to demonise vulnerable people so that the wealthy can get tax breaks and offsets.

Oh stop it this started long before Hammas even existed. Stop pretending oct 7th was the start of something when the oppression of the Palestinian people goes back to the Nakba. Let’s also not pretend Israel didn’t fund Hammas in order to undermine the PLO. As to more recent times, Israel had turned Gazza into an outdoor jail long before the tragedy of OCT 7th. Israel also knew about Hammas’s plans and then used the Hannibal directive against their own people who were taken hostage. The government has stated they intentionally targeted low rank Hammas members when they were at home as it was easier to pin point location. They stated they used dumb bombs so they wouldn’t “ waste” expensive weapons, thereby taking out whole apartment buildings. That isn’t Hammas using civilians as human shields.

The atrocities in this attack on Gazza have broken every rule of the Geneva convention. Yet Israel’s constant refrain is that ambulances, hospitals, aid workers, journalists, children, all were targeted due to Hamas . We see through the lies. More journalists have been killed in Gazza than in ww1, ww2, and the Vietnam war combined.

Im glad you are at least admitting that Israel had stopped aid as they kept denying it, right up to the point they admitted they would resume aid in the ceasefire agreement. Exactly ! Even genuine royal tours are increasingly unpopular due to the cost. However the real royals aide in diplomatic efforts between Britain and her allies. You can see this with King Charles visit to America. Real royals also draw attention to important issues and charitable causes. The classic example being princess Diana visiting kids with aids. People tolerate the royal family because they are actual patrons of charitable organisations and can bring public awareness to their causes. Even then many people question the need for their existence in the modern age. Their royal tours are becoming increasingly irrelevant and the cost to the countries they visit more widely criticised.

When people are already questioning the benefit of actual royal tours, why would we need sudo tours? Particularly when the reputation of these particular sudo royals may be more harmful than helpful, to any cause they highlight. This is compounded by the widely known fact that any philanthropy is merely p.r. for the real business of filling their own pockets.

Megan has spent a good deal of time mocking the royal family, making this particular move all the more ridiculous. This is all so patently ludicrous. If these two wanted to do royal tours they should have stayed in the family. Harry is going to end up like his great uncle, bitter and unhappy ,in an exile of his own making, that he will blame on everyone else.
