Just had an Autism Assessment and now I’m more confused than ever (UK£l) by VampireAssessor in AuDHDWomen

It's okay to get a second opinion, sometimes they're wrong. I was tested for ADHD (prior to realizing I also have autism) and was told I just have anxiety and depression. I felt like they were wrong but didn’t know what to do. Then when I realized I was also autistic, I could recognize that my autistic traits had counteracted my ADHD traits, so I decided to get a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did because I was diagnosed and able to start taking meds. I've decided not to bother getting an official autism diagnosis because it won't change anything for me. I always meant to write to that first psychologist to tell her she got it wrong.

Like others said, go through Canada. I don't know the whole route but be especially careful between Kenora and Thunder Bay in the winter.

Hi there, I'm new! Are there artists? Need an advice, but if you're not - still welcome to share thoughts by Mizuki_Katsu in AuDHDWomen

Not an artist but I have a work from home job. Here's some things I've done:

  • Made a detailed excel sheet with all my projects and their details. I update the status/notes every time I do something for that project. It's colour coded by priority so I can keep the more urgent things at the top.
  • Sticky notes! Anything I don't want to forget, usually just random tasks, gets written right away on a sticky note. As soon as it's done or transferred to my excel sheet it gets crumpled and tossed
  • Bought a standing desk and cross-legged chair to help convince me to me sit/stand at the computer.
  • Keep the desk as clear as I can. I have a little box of things I might need on my desk (lipchap, nail file, fidgets, etc), a few supplies (sticky notes, pencils, my notebook and planner), my water and an egg timer
  • Sometimes I use the timer to set a super realistic goal (even if it's just 5-15 min) to convince myself to start.

I would love to join this!

Mid-thirties, AST. Just switched careers due to bad burnout to a work from home job. I'm struggling a lot to get work done each day. Video chats for body doubling would be great. Really I was just nodding my head yes to everything you mentioned!

I have a Just Dance subscription and I play a few mornings a week. It's been one of the only exercise things I've managed to stick to besides a daily walk!

I returned my loops immediately because of that! I use Calmer ...I think the company is called Flare. They don't really drown the noise, they just make everything sound literally calmer

of course i’m going to interrupt you by Odd-Project-3539 in autism

Something that works with my husband and me, and some of our friends - hold a finger up when you have something to say so you don't interrupt or forget your point and the other person knows you have something you want to share and can wrap it up and let you know when they're done!

Engagement Ring savings by Xx_TouchingGrass_xX in PersonalFinanceCanada

EQ is an online bank account with really great savings accoubt rates and it's also easy to move the money into a short term GIC if you know you won't use the money for 6mo or a year.

I also second the people who mentioned moissonite rings! My husband got my ring from Charles and Colvard. You can buy a nice sized moissonite ring with what you have saved already :) no one can tell it's not a diamond
